On the Horizon – Gulfstream Park – Wednesday(March 22, 2023) – John Pinder

Race 4 SELECTIONS:   3  –  4   –  7

#3 Astral Weeks dropped to this level last time and attempted to take them gate to wire.  Although he was unsuccessful he has the ability to be more tactful with his speed; in with a chance.  #4 Dream of Blessings drops in class and returns to a route distance, will have the services of jockey Jose Ortiz.  #7 Krypton also will drop in class and will switch surfaces for trainer Carlos David, who is doing well in claiming races statistically.

Race 5 SELECTIONS:   1  –  5  –  7

#1 Street Vendor will be making his first start for trainer Michael De Paulo.  This four-year-old son of Nyquist has shown the ability to press and close well, but has not gotten the chance recently due to extreme race paces.  #5 Nantasket Beach has also been the victim of hot paces in his last three attempts; there is some speed in this race but nothing that looks contentious in the form.  #7 Master of None gets a little bit of class relief today and jockey Javier Castellano is always dangerous on the turf.

Race 6 SELECTIONS:   4  –  5

#4 Crazy Passion is returning from a two month layoff for trainer Amador Sanchez; she has won two of her last four and today will be running at a lower level than her last victory.  #5 Meet the Beauty will be running second off the layoff for trainer Victor Barboza Jr.; in her return race she faded late, should be better today.

Race 7 SELECTIONS:    1  –  3  –  6

#1 Rachel’s Rock has been away from the races for more than nine months, but trainer Ralph Nicks does well with long layoff runners and her recent workout was solid.  #3 Shes All Woman is a hard-trying mare that has been competitive at this level in the past, today she runs second off the layoff for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr.   #6 To a T has been knocking on the door at this level in her last two attempts; she retains the services of jockey Jose Ortiz.

Race 8 SELECTIONS:   1  –  3  –  7

#1 Shankar broke her maiden last time out on the turf at this distance, and was given a two month rest by trainer Saffie Joseph Jr.; retains the services of jockey Tyler Gaffalione.  #3 People Force has good tactical speed and likes to be up near the lead, has never been beaten by more than three lengths in his five race career.  #7 The Khozan One ran a solid third in his last attempt in a similar race after encountering trouble in the upper stretch.

Let’s make it happen!!!
