Quick reflection from yesterday:

Missed the Pick 5 by one runner.  – A co-morning line favorite that was labelled a Timid Pass in an attempt to find value.

There is an old song, that has been remade countless times, who’s title and stirring lyrics puts in perspective how yesterday went.  I will give you a few seconds to guess before I reveal it.  – Thin Line between Love and Hate.

Let’s see if we can get on the side of Love today.

Today’s Late Pick 5 Sequence:

#1 Burn the Boats – Coming off a long lay off for a small barn. Owner and Trainer factor. Timid Pass.

#2 Light Fury – Horse for course. Trainer does well with today’s conditions. INCLUDE

#3 Tune In – Hard trying gelding that checks all the boxes. Gaffalione in the irons.  INCLUDE

#4 Uncle Curly – Pass.

#5 Seize the Hay – Broke his maiden last time out against a really hot pace going longer. Pass.

#6 Semper Fi – Has experienced trouble at start of his not so good races.  If he can get away cleanly he will be a contender. Timid INCLUDE

#7 Mr. Tip – Cutting back in distance and a slight drop in class might be enough. Should be fit and ready.  INCLUDE

#8 Notsosubtle – Closer who cuts back in distance.  Pass.

#9 The Mighty Judge – Pass.

#10 Austrian – Closer who will need a work out a good trip, dropping back into the first turn.  Timid Pass.

#1 Wholebodemeister – When facing strong runners she has faded twice. Pass.

#2 Three Tipsy Chix – Moves up in class after breaking her maiden, will need to continue to improve.  Timid INCLUDE

#3 Competitive Speed – Consistent runner that is progressing with every race.  Timid INCLUDE

#4 Queen Arella – Pass.

#5 Dial to Win – Pass.

#6 Lady Traveler – Figures are on the light side.  Timid Pass.

#7 Zaajel – Won debut professionally, going away.  Pace figures were average.  Timid INCLUDE

#8 Coach Jer’s Joy – Has not raced for more than 3 months. In her lone start she won on a sloppy track. Timid Pass.

Race 10 1 Mile. (Turf) SwetChnt-G3 Sweetest Chant S. Grade III. Purse $100,000 FILLIES,
THREE YEARS OLD

#1 Queen of the Green – Does her best running upfront and will be facing winners for the first time – Pass.

#2 Honey Pants – Attempted to save ground last time and allowed #4 go on with it ran well in defeat. INCLUDE

#3 Candace O – Figures are not on par with this group. Pass.

#4 Con Lima – Need the lead type who has the ability to get it and keep it. She will be tested today.  INCLUDE

#5 White Frost – Pass.

#6 Domain Expertise – Although it was only against maiden company this Chad Brown trained filly ran very well last time out. Timid INCLUDE

#7 Lionessofbrittany – Attempting to stretch out to a mile from 5 Furlongs.

#8 Director’s Cut – Based on all of the speed to her inside will need to be used early diminishing her changes. Timid Pass.

SELECTIONS: 2 and 4 and 6

 

Race 11  1 Mile & 1/16th . HolyBull-G3 Holy Bull S. Grade III. Purse $200,000 THREE YEAR OLDS.

#1 Jirafales – Only has punchers chance based on the caliber of runners he will face today. Timid Pass.

#2 Willy Boi – Attempting to take his 6 Furlong speed and stretch to a mile and one-sixteenth. Timid Pass.

#3 Papetu – First two races as a two year-old were impressive.  Then he ran into Jackies Warrior, then was give sometime off – Ran a good 2nd in the Mucho Macho Man stakes last time out. Long Shot Timid INCLUDE

#4 Amount – Curlin colt trained by Pletcher. Broke his maiden last time, fractions were on the moderate side. Saez gets the mount.   Timid INCLUDE.

#5 Tarantino – Figures are very light. Pass.

#6 Prime Factor – Only one start for this Quality Road colt, but he won very impressively.  INCLUDE

#7 Greatest Honour – has shown the ability to tactical against lower class runners. It will take a lot to close into the projected speed of today’s contest.  Timid Pass.

#8 Sittin On Go – Needs a strong pace and a good trip. Timid Pass.

#9 Awesome Gerry – Based on his past races, in my opinion, distance could be an issue for this horse. Pass.

SELECTIONS: 3 and 4 and 6

Race 12  1 Mile. (Turf) Clm 35000b Purse $31,000 (includes $5,000 FHBPA-FOA – FHBPA
Florida Owners Awards) FOR FOUR YEAR OLDS AND UPWARD WHICH HAVE NEVER
WON THREE RACES OR WHICH HAVE NOT WON A RACE SINCE JULY 30, 2020.

#1 The Last Zip – Will be forced to go from the rail and with the presence of a speedster to his outside, I anticipate these factors to contribute to a quick opening quarter.  Pass.

#2 Dundalk – Will look to go gate to wire.  Several others have that same objective.  Pass.

#3 Honey Won’t –  Has not raced in 4 months and attempting a distance longer than he was primarily campaigned at before.  Pass.

#4 Financial System – Not encouraged by the continued drop in the claiming ranks. Timid Pass.

#5 Tusk – Hard hitting 8 year-old has not returned to his old form, but very well could here.  Timid INCLUDE

#6 Troubling Moon – Would be better suited for a longer distance.  Pass.

#7 Willing to Speed – Pass.

#8 Harbour Master – Lacks the early speed to really effective, but should get an opportunity to win today.  INCLUDE.

#9 Monongahela – Recent form is not good.  Pass.

#10 Fig Jelly – Pace setter then fades.  Pass.

#11 Blameless – Should get a very nice pace to run at.  I sometimes have a bias of playing against good horses on the outside.  INCLUDE.
