Late Pick 5 Sequence
Race 6: SELECTIONS: 6 – 2 – 4
#6 Eagerly has been very competitive but unsuccessful at the straight maiden level now drops into maiden claiming level and could beat this field handily. #2 Blue Lou Boyle is dropping into the maiden claiming ranks for the first time also, as this 5 year old gelding is preparing to make only his 4th career start. He fits the profile of runner that a patient trainer like Mark Casse does well with. #4 Mauro’s Team‘s first race back after a 11 month layoff was one were he earned a good second place finish going a mile and one-eighth. He closed mildly after attending the reasonable pace, receiving a solid speed figure; that contest should provide as a stamina springboard for this one.
Race 7: SELECTIONS: 7 – 9 – 4
#7 Cash Now returns to the dirt surface after a very unsuccessful attempt at turf sprinting. This home-bred, gelded son of Hard Spun drops in class for Trainer Brad Cox and will be looking to use his early turn of foot to his advantage. #9 Cool Hand Coop is a turf sprinter specialist that is returning to the dirt where he is 3 for 2 lifetime. Gets some class relief today and jockey Paco Lopez in the irons; trainer Jane Cibelli has been doing well at the meet. #4 Diamonds Enjoy This Kitten’s Joy colt always gives a solid effort. After putting up impressive numbers winning last time out against non winners of 2 lifetime, now faces non winners of 3.
Race 8: SELECTIONS: 5 – 7
#5 Boerne returns to Gulfstream Park where she was dominant last summer on the dirt, today she attempting the turf for the first time. Reunites with jockey Edgard Zayas who piloted her to 4 wins after over the course of 5 months, should work out a good trip. If she is not opposed to the grass, she should run well in this spot. #7 Dixieincandyland is a bonified closer that will have every opportunity to use her late kick against a group of speeders that could go too fast early.
Race 9: SELECTION: 8
#8 Front Loaded has the tactical ability and speed to be the lone selection in this leg of our multi-race wager. Irad in the saddle, first start for trainer Kelly Breen, bullet recent workout: all contribute to the reasons why I believe we can get narrow in this spot.
Race 10 : SELECTIONS: 4 – 5 – 10
#4 All About Kathern has the running style to be forward just enough and that will play to her ability to effectively when needed. She fits in nicely with this group from a class perspective and maintains the services of Paco Lopez. #5 Lea Ro is runner that has good tactical ability that drops in class for trainer Brian Lynch. Last time out was put into the race much earlier and stalked with interest before backing up slightly; that was after a 2 month layoff. If she can build on that performance she will be a contender for sure. #10 Reggae Revolution is a longshot possibility that I would like to mention. 3rd off the layoff, stretching out and attempting turf for the first time are a lot of things to overcome, but I like the running lines of this filly. She is always trying hard and has good pace figures; recent bullet workout on the turf.
