Parx Spot Plays for Monday 7/12/21
Race 5
#2 Evil Woman finally drops into a beaten 25K claiming race where she seems to belong these days. Harold Wyner has this horse running against OC company and Allowance company. She loves the 1M and 70Y distance at Parx and gets the top jockey in Ruben Silvera. This horse should be close to the lead if not on it and should be tough to beat.
Race 6
#4 Stand by You in my opinion is the class and the best in this field. This 3yo filly debuted at Keenland and ran a solid 3rd. Then she ran 20 days later at Keenland in the same type of race and won going 6 wide. She then shipped to Belmont to face winners and had to go wide again to run a distant 2nd. I think the fact she is facing this field today at Parx shows she might be not as good to face those horses on tougher circuits but also shows that she shouldn’t be wide this time in a 5 horse field and that she should be way better than this group.
Race 10
#11 Sambam has run really well on the turf recently compared to his dirt form. Laprida has given him two solid rides but also has kept this horse a little too far back in those races that could’ve cost this horse those races. I am hoping he keeps Sambam closer today so when he makes his run he doesn’t need to make up too much ground. If he can run like he did two races ago, he wins this race.
