Parx Spot Plays for Monday 6/21/21
Race 5
#2 The Big S has been everywhere and even Parx at one point. Wayne Potts ships this horse in from Monmouth and brings Luis Cardenas from NY to ride this one. The one Parx start was in the slop against way tougher and it resulted in a 6th place finish. He has been in better form as of late and I think he will be a key part of the pace scenario here today. I am expecting a big effort here.
Race 6
#9 Chief Exchanger is in off the layoff and gets the new apprentice to Parx in Hernandez who has had an okay start to his time here. Andrew Simoff has been on fire this year in limited starts mostly at Delaware so I like any horse coming out of his barn right now. This horse is undefeated at Parx in 2 starts and has been off since December so he should be well rested. This 11yo is looking to keep up the good form.
Race 7
#1 American Talent gets the returning jockey Anthony Nunez today after he was out for the past month or two with Jaw surgery. This horse has done good at 5F on the turf at Penn National last summer. They tried a stake race at Parx at the same distance today and didn’t fire but I think the return to the turf and the ability to press the leaders and make one run is what will be key here today in order to win.
Race 8
#7 Sense a Million I like a lot here and I think she will get the perfect set up today. I love that Laprida has returned to this horse and I always will cheer on my buddies at Longball Stables LLC. This filly loves Parx and I think she needed the whip last time out at Monmouth which resulted in her not making a better run.
