Parx Spot Plays

Race 1: #6 Sour Mash

  • Sour Mash dominated the field last time out which was only a week ago but is back in against another below average field, especially after the favorite scratched out of this field. Angel Casitllo is back riding this one for his son who is the owner, and I think this horse can duplicate that previous performance today.

Race 5: #5 Smarten Up

  • Smarten Up was temporarily on the derby trail but that didn’t pan out so now they have him in an OC N2L at Parx. Based on class alone, this horse should win. Trevor McCarthy is coming in to ride this one which is another good sign. This horse is in great form still and I think he can win and get back on track here. Doubt we get 7/2 though like the ML suggests.

Race 7: #7 Sophia Lauren

  • Sophia Lauren debuted at Parx for Michael Trombetta and his team. On that day Victor Carrasco came in to ride and today they are opting to go for leading Parx rider Ruben Silvera. I think the jockey change will help even though both jockeys are super talented. Trombetta doesn’t send many horses to race at Parx but this one did well in debut and should be able to break her maiden today.
