Parx Racing 5/17/21
Race 1- 1M MCL10K
#6 Longtail should run better going two turns in my opinion. I like the switch to the aggressive riding of Dexter Haddock today. This horse has shown glimpses of being able to put it all together but at the end of the day he is just a cheap horse doing cheap things. Hopefully today is the day he wins.
#2 Field Officer is 0/31 coming into this race but 13/31 in the money. I think his most recent form is good enough to beat this weak field but I also think he is just a career maiden. If there was ever a race where I think he could win, it would be this one.
#4 Our Uncle Drew is another horse I think could finally put it together today. This 0/29 Maiden is 14/29 in the money and is coming back to this level today after failing miserably at 20K. Luis Rivera gets the call today which I like and I think if he can go back to his race 3 races ago, this horse can win.
Race 2- 1M 70Y CLM12500N4L
Picks- 1A- 6- 4
#1A Champers is a horse I really have liked over the past 2 months at Parx. This horse is in peak condition and Jamie Ness has had him ready all spring. Frankie keeps the call here and I think that is ideal. The fact this horse fought back last time out for the win shows just how much heart he has.
#6 El Borracho is coming in from Golden Gate and I know this horse pretty well from handicapping the west coast circuit. I love him switching to the Padilla-Preciado barn here and it is always a positive seeing Laprida get the call. The only downside if not knowing if he will like the Parx surface or dirt in general as he has yet to win on the dirt.
#4 Dance for Oro gets Mychel Sanchez today as Frankie Pennington chose to ride the Ness entrant instead. This horse seems to be somewhat of a hanger in these races but has been able to get the job done before. I think a stronger and a red hot rider in Mychel Sanchez today could be all he needs to return to that winning attitude.
Race 3- 1M OC16K/SAL16K
#3 Roan Mountain has been so close over the past 3 starts since joining the Mario Dominguez barn off the claim. Dexter had ridden him in the past 2 starts and both were 2nd place finishes. I just think this horse has the ability to win today as long as he pieces it together.
#2 Breithorn has become a speedster since joining the Peñaloza barn. I think he will be tough on the lead and if he gets the lead this race may be over early.
#8 Icy Dude will be closing today and is now in the Carlos Soto barn which I think will produce better results. Laprida gets the call today and that is always a positive.
Race 4- 6F MCL 25k
This race is really wide open and I would recommend using multiple horses, so since I am not a huge fan of any specific horse more than the others, i would recommend using 2,3,5,6,7,9,11
= $ 42
