Labor Day Parx Card
I will only be doing spot plays today as the races are off the turf today and I don’t necessarily like a horse in each of the 12 races. We will be back with full card selections tomorrow.
Race 7- #7 Bold Confection
- Bold Confection could bring jockey Kendrick Carmouche’s first win today after being sidelined for the whole summer with an ankle injury. This 3yo filly looks to be the fastest out of the gate on paper and gets the best gate jockey in the race on her today. This horse has Louisiana connections from top to bottom and now gets the Louisiana kid aboard. I expect this horse to go gate to wire here today.
Race 8- #10 Flashing Diamond
- I had Flashing Diamond on top last time out about 2 weeks ago and she came running for 2nd but couldn’t catch the leader. Today the pace will be even stronger and the field isn’t as classy. I think the outside post will help her as she can angle in behind the leaders today. Hopefully Frankie Pennington will give her a good ride again today and she can get up late.
Race 10- #6 Chub Wagon
- Chub Wagon is right back in today after a 2 week hiatus. This horse had a hard time getting the lead early last time out and actually had to duel with 2-3 horses on her outside setting lightning fast fractions. This led to her finishing 2nd and it was a game 2nd at that. I think today is much easier and she will be tough to go by down the stretch. Hopefully she has some stamina left in the tank after such a quick turnaround.
