Parx Racing 4/6/21
I will be going over the middle pick 4 today and will be back with a full card tomorrow.
Race 5- 1M MSW
Picks- 1-4-3
#1 Our Bella Nicole is shipping in from Maryland and goes over the Parx surface for the first time. I think this field isn’t the best and probably is a drop in class for her today. I also think that since this is her second start as a 3yo and is well rested should help her win. Jamie Rodriguez has quietly put on a good campaign this year with a 16% win clip so far so I like the jockey call today.
#4 Sail Above is the only first time starter in this field and is a first time starter for John Servis at that. This Smarty Jones baby has had some solid workouts and gets Frankie Pennington in debut. I think the fact she is a FTS and with solid breeding and solid connections against a weak field is all that is needed.
#3 Ninetypercentbrynn was in my top 3 last time out and she finished 3rd but she stumbled so badly at the start that she ruined all her chances to win. She gets lasix for the first time today and Adorno stays aboard. I think she can bounce back today and she will be tougher with a clean start.
Race 6- 7F OC25K/SAL25K
Picks- 6-4-2
#6 New York Rock Star is in for Ness and Silvera and Ness won 5 races yesterday. Silvera connects with Ness at a 29% clip. I think the drop in class and return to Parx is all she is going to need. She should be rolling late and I think the pace today in this field is very weak so it should collapse.
#4 Lula’s Roadrunner didn’t like the off track last time out but if she can return to the form she had two races ago she can win. If she can sit just off the pace, she should be able to run right by them like that race two starts ago.
#2 Twirling Liz hasn’t seen a fast track over the past 3 races so this will be the first race DeMasi has had her when it comes to a fast track and I think that is helpful today. This seems to be the preferred distance even though she only has 2 thirds in 2 starts at this distance. However I think Mychel Sanchez can help put it all together today.
Race 7- 7F MSW
Picks- 4-6-5
#4 Ruffy has been in the best of form as of late when it comes to the quality of this field. I think the added distance is ideal here and Silvera stays with him today. Howard Brown Jr. has been on a hot streak in 2021 and I think today he adds another win.
#6 The Great Gazoo never showed anything in debut and actually finished last by over 27 lengths. However, this field is bad and his recent workouts show that maybe he has improved enough to put on a better performance. I think he will actually go to the lead today and will be tough to catch if he breaks clean.
#5 Know It Now improved a ton 2nd time out but still has more to prove. His main problem is breaking out of the gate. If Mychel Sanchez can get him to break clean then I think this can be his race to win. Also if he does break bad the added distance should be beneficial.
Race 8- 1M CLM7500N3L
Picks- 3-2-6
#3 Taylor’s Belle is looking for two in a row today. She really rallied well in her recent win and I think the upgrade in jockey to Laprida is ideal here to keep her going forward. This level is what she needs and I think she can win again today if she can duplicate her recent trip.
#2 Passport Required is coming in off the layoff. Ruben Silvera chose this horse over a Jamie Ness horse which is a good thing. Ruben should have her on the lead and I think the layoff was needed even though they put her on the shelf after improving her form. She likes Parx and has a win at the distance.
#6 Enough Love had a horrible start last time out and just missed for the win. She is cross entered into tomorrow’s 10th race so who knows if she will run here. However if she does run here I like her chances. If she can break cleanly I think she can win based off her performance last time out.
