Parx Spot Plays for the Stakes/Handicaps for Tuesday 6/22/21
Race 7
#3 Extrasexybigdaddee is shipping in from Fair Hill for the Trombetta team and they get Mychel Sanchez to ride here today. This horse should be ready to fire here today and is in my opinion the classiest of this bunch. Granted the turf races today might come off due to weather, but if this stays on the turf I like this horses chances today.
#9 Beren should win going away if this race comes off the turf. If this races comes of the turf I would actually single this horse in any sequence as when it comes to dirt this horse is a multiple stakes race winner.
Race 8
#6 Assume Control has been on fire since joining the Padilla-Preciado barn. This horse has won the last two races by over 20 lengths. This race is a wide open affair and I think that taking this horse at 7/2 should be the play due to the improving form.
Race 9
#8 Caravel is in the best form when it comes to the turf. This filly was steadied last time out and still won at Pimlico and returns today in good form. This horse has yet to run at Parx on the turf or dirt which can be a concern to bettors but not to me. Geroux is shipping in to ride these horses and specifically this one it seems. I think the fact she can rate or go to the lead as shown in her prior race makes her even tougher today.
#10 Precious should be the dirt winner if this race does get rained off. The amount of speed in this race from the dirt form horses is intense. This horse is the only filly in the bunch that can sit off the leaders and make one run. The pace should set up an amazing trip for her and I think she will be the hardest horse to beat if this becomes a dirt race.
Race 10
#12 Sheer Flattery should be the horse to take in here as Ruben Silvera chose to ride this one over the Jamie Ness horses. This Lou Linder horse is in peak form and is just firing on all cylinders since mid March. He is 3 for 5 lifetime at Parx and 3 for 4 in 2021. I fully expect this horse to be close to the leaders and make his move around the turn and win by a couple lengths.
