Race 4: #6 Blugrascat’s Smile
- This horse was my top pick the last time this horse ran. He won first time out for Scott Lake last time out after leaving a weaker barn. Paco Lopez keeps the mount and should be able to get the trip in order to win back to back. I think the form reversal here makes sense and should keep improving now in the Lake barn.
Race 6: #10 Spartak
- Spartak has been improving in each start since the layoff. Today marks the 3rd race off the layoff. Smylie is 21% 3rd off the layoff according to Brisnet and at today’s distance this horse has the highest speed rating for this field. Milan has been picking up some live mounts lately and I think this one can be a winner for the connections today.
Race 10: #1 El Sobreviviente
- El Sobreviviente is now running for Jamie Ness after being claimed off of Danny Velazquez in his most recent start. I think this horse will improve off that last effort and could win two in a row especially after joining the red hot Jamie Ness barn. Jamie Ness scratched his other horse in this field and Ruben Silvera is riding this one. I think that is a good sign that this horse is ready to roll and this field is tough but I think this horse is just in the most improving form currently.
