Parx Racing 4/7/21
Due to work calling me in early last minute, I could only handicap the Early Pick 4 and I like the sequence. I think it only takes $18 to hit this in my eyes. The sequence is analyzed below.
Race 1- 6F CLM12500N4L
#7 Wings of Fury looks for two in a row and cuts back in distance by a furlong. Lou Linder has this horse in solid form as of late and she just won by 6 lengths last time out. Today she jumps up in class to the 12,500 level but still in her condition of N4L. I think this field isn’t as tough as the class level would suggest so I think that she should be tough here.
#4 Fleeterthan should be closer to the pace today and Angel Castillo has slowly gotten this horse closer to the winners’ circle. The performance last time out is the exact performance I pray she shows today.
#3 Frisky Feeling was claimed last time out, for a trainer I’m not that familiar with but she was running well for Phil Aristone and I think she has talent at this level regardless of connections. I think she can be a longshot play here and a good piece underneath.
Race 2- 1m MCL20K
#2 Grandfire looks to be the best in this group and is the rightful ML favorite in my eyes. Hopefully Geraldo Milan can put him on the lead like he wants and they can go gate to wire. Both of the last races didn’t favor early pace so hopefully today it will.
#5 Rebel Traveller is a deep closer and he was flying late last time out. If the pace collapses and the track plays to horses from the back of the pack, this gelding will be the horse to watch.
#7 Our Uncle Drew didn’t show up at all last time out, but if he can return to his form two races ago and doesn’t mind the slight rise in class. The outside post is going to be the downfall but I know this horse prefers two turns and hopefully will be forwardly placed today.
Race 3- 6 ½ F CLM12500N4L
#5 Your Awesome Boss should be on the lead early. This horse loves Parx and also is coming into this race 2nd off the layoff, and he won in the 1st race back pretty convincingly. I think he will be even in better form today.
#2 Otis Otis Otis was in my top 3 last time out. Now he is running for Carl Jones after he was claimed off of Joe Taylor. I’m not the biggest fan of the barn switch, but the horse has been in solid form as of late and I think that he can be close here.
#1 Fried Rice King will win if he gets the previous trip. He also is cutting back in distance and seems to love the surface. Could be flying late.
Race4- 5 ½ MCL10k
#4 Oak Creek Canyon is in for Ten Strike Racing. I think this filly will be on the lead today and it is 2nd off the layoff and 2nd time with Juan Carlos Guerrero. I think she is just the best in this spot.
#5 Hickory Made is jumping up in class after a failed attempt at MCL 7.5k at Penn National. However, Ruben Silvera hops aboard and that is what brings me to having him in the top 3. Hopefully Ruben can get the job done.
#8 Treasure Seeker should be on the lead today and I think he could be able to stay on the lead longer today as well. Adam Bowman is on this horse and I like that because I like Bowman on the lead more than most at Parx. Should be tougher today.
