Race 2: #4 Starship Dreams
- Starship Dreams should be forwardly placed today like last time out. Penny Pearce is dropping this horse from MCL 20k to MCL 16K. This horse just got tired late last time out and 2nd off the layoff, plus the drop, should result in this horse winning easily. I can see this horse going gate to wire to break her maiden today.
Race 6: #3 Mani Pedi
- Dexter Haddock reunited with Mani Pedi today after not riding this horse in her last start. The 10 pound apprentice rode this horse last time out and finished a game 2nd. Now with the regular jockey back in the irons on this horse, I think Haddock will bring this horse home on top. I think if this horse can sit in the pocket, Haddock will end up having enough horse to win, but if this horse is somehow wide today, I think her chances are tough.
Race 10: #2 Johnny Oil
- Johnny Oil is a first time starter debuting at the lowest level at Parx. I think this horse was meant to debut at Monmouth in state bred maiden races over there as this is a NJ bred gelding. They gelded this horse in July and the workouts post surgery were better than prior. However, towards the end of the meet his workouts became less impressive. I think that led them to being patient and pointing here. Luis Rivera is riding well and the Parx works were good enough for me to be intrigued on this double digit odds horse in the nightcap.
