PARX Analysis for Wednesday, February 10

PTF posting for Andrew Rdesinski

Race 1- 6 ½ Furlongs CLM7500N4L

Picks- 8-6-5

  • #8 Color Chart is coming into this race off the claim for Jamie Ness who is currently 35% on 88 starts with this angle. Along with her early speed run style makes me like her a lot here. I expect a much better effort than last time out. #6 Bangle Gal is also coming in off the claim but for Felix Flores-Coba and cuts back a tad but returns to the same level. I actually thing a 1 turn mile would be perfect for her but Parx does not do that so I can see why they settle for the sprints. Could be too short though. #5 Creedibility is another horse first off the claim in which it is for Ronald Dandy. Her most recent start was a step in the right direction but she also needs a lot of early speed to run into which is why she is my third choice.

Race 2- 5 ½ MCL10k

Picks- 3-11-6

  • This is one of the weakest fields I have seen in recent memory. That being said I think the #3 American Money has been running the best as of late. She hasn’t shown much ability but her last start at 5 ½ Furlongs was her best start to date and it was only a 4th place finish. I think the return to he distance could be beneficial. #11 Oak Creek Canyon Is probably the class of this field. Ten Strike knows where to put this horse and the fact they shipped to parx for the class drop is important in my eyes. Could be a way to get claimed or could be a way to get a win. #6 Fashion Nova is the first time starter in this field and in a field below average, I think the first time starter has the advantage. She won’t need to prove much in order to be a factor.

Race 3- 1 Mile CLM 7500N3L

Picks- 6-4-2

  • #6 Sincere Man seems to be trending forward and not much in this field is. Laprida returns after not riding last time out and that is a big improvement for me. I think he can get the job done today if he runs like he did two races ago. #4 Boston Light is in for Jamie Ness and is coming in off a bad effort which is something I don’t like. But these connections are very good and I think this horse can bounce back. #2 Drummond is sneaky at a price here. He is coming off a win at this same level for N2L and is coming off a recent best number which is a huge improvement for his recent form. I think he could be coming into form and 10/1 ML is a huge overlay in my eyes.

Race 4- 1M CLM8000

Picks- 1-3-8

  • #1 Finglas just missed last time out and had to close wide down the stretch which ended up making him come up short. However,  he seems to be in the best form and if he gets a cleaner trip I can see him winning here for fun. #3 Klaatu is dropping back to Open 8000 company in which he hasn’t been too in months, but he did win at Open 10k back in November. I think this horse has the capability to win but has been running in over his head. The return to this level is key. #8 Won the Case was really solid with Danny Velazquez so I know this horse has ability. Yet since joining Miguel Penaloza’s barn he hasn’t returned to that form. I think the 2nd time out for the barn will bring improvement and he could make a run at the top 3.

Race 5- 6 Furlongs MSW

Picks- 1-5-6

  • #1 Norrin Road is a first time starter who was a $100K purchase at the OBS April Sale back in 2020. This is the only horse purchased for near that type of money in this field and I think that means more than it seems. Richard Vega is a very solid trainer and this horse seems to have some ability based off of breeding and placement. #5 Beren just missed in a MSW race last time at 5 ½ and bumps up to 6F which he has yet to run at. I think if Frankie Pennington can get the lead it will be hard for anyone to beat him. #6 Marvalous Mike also just missed at 7F last time out and bumps down to 6F. Angel Rodriguez gets the mount today I think Marya Montoya wants some aggressiveness in this horse and Angel Rodriguez can be aggressive.

Race 6- 1M 70Yards CLM5000N1Y

Picks- 5-7-6

  • #5 Salsa’s Return has yet to win at Parx but also has yet to miss the top 3. His beyers are improving and he has been right there in each start since joining the Ness barn which I like. I think today he puts the pieces together. #7 Financial Freedom is returning to this level for the 2nd time in a row. He was very game in his last start and improved his beyer 35 points from his race two races ago to his most recent effort. Hopefully more improvement comes today. #6 Algorix has finished in the top 3 in 4 out of his last 5 starts. He is 0-10 at the distance but has been in the money 7 of those 10 races. I think that he can be a key piece underneath here.

Race 7- 5 ½ Furlongs CLM12500

Picks- 8-5-10

  • #8 Lady Valentina was just claimed by Irving Velez who seems to have brought some horses over to Parx from CT and MNR. This horse loves parx and is jumping up in class after losing his restrictions by winning his 4th race. This horse should improve switching barns and gaining Frankie Pennington. #5 Cawaja Time has been in great form as of recently and is going back to open company today. The jump back up to open company could be make or break for this horse and his recent change in form. #10 Street Appeal is coming into this race 2nd off the layoff and 2nd time out for Lou Linder. She won last time out pretty convincingly and I think she can reproduce that effort but the outside post could be her downfall.

Race 8- 1M CLM25000B

Picks- 9-10-6

  • #9 Shemakesmehappy is coming into this race well rested. She also has the ability to go to the lead early which should be the way to win this race. She has class too against this field but hasn’t won since 2019. Hopefully today changes that. #10 Bamboo Garden is running out of the Eli Betancourt Jr. and dropping to a more reasonable condition. I think she has a good shot in here at a price. #6 Lake Chicot is in for Jamie Ness who is on fire, and is returning to the exact same condition. Looks like she will be able to get the lead early on or will try to and if she does uncontested it will be hard for her to lose.

Race 9- 7 Furlongs OC25k/SAL25k

Picks- 4-10-1

  • #4 Mavilus is coming out of a good race which was a CLM25KN2L at Penn National in which she outfinished everyone but the winner who won dominantly by 6 ½ lengths. I think this field is very wide open and she should be able to fit right in. #10 Incomparable just ran in a stake at Laurel in which she didn’t show much but returns back to a respectable level and should improve. She will be flying late if there’s pace to run into. #1 Hay Nineteen is sneaky in here for Ten Strike and Juan Carlos Guerrero. She didn’t show much first time against winners but did dominate in the slop first time out. Maybe the 2nd time against winners and return to a track with moisture will be helpful. 8/1 ML is more than reasonable for this filly.

Race 10- 5 ½ Furlongs ALW8000s

Pick- 2-6-10

  • #2 Forman the Foreman should be sent from the rail and fought hard last time out. John Kirby is a solid young trainer and has been placing this horse in solid spots. He loves Parx and could go gate to wire. #6 Flashy Kyem is looking to turn the form around with the slight cut back. This field isn’t too deep and Mychel Sanchez stays aboard here and should be able to improve this horse. #10 Street Tail is coming in 2nd off the layoff and off of a win. He just beat my top choice by wearing him down the stretch. I think however the outside post in this sprint is going to be an issue. However if he can overcome the bad post it will be hard to beat him.

Race 11- 6 Furlongs CLM5000N1Y

Picks- 4-10-6

#4 Bon Heir seems to be in the best form in this field but usually tends to break bad and mess up his chances at the start. If she can break well she will be hard to beat based off a clean trip and recent form. #10 Risque Express is sneaky in here off he claim for Juan Vasquez. This is a huge barn upgrade and the drop to the bottom could mean this horse isn’t much. However, the trainer upgrade and improvement in jockey make me thing this horse will show some ability today and could surprise at a huge price. #6 Trappe Me Later seems to have some early speed and that could be used to her advantage. Edwin Rivera can be super aggressive and hopefully today will be the day at a solid price. Her race 2 starts ago can win this race.
