Parx Top Plays Per Race 7/28/21

Race 1

#5 Rock Gin is coming into this race with good form. He was previously in the Monica McGoey barn in Florida before the owners brought him north to Parx in June. His debut at Parx was a closing 3rd where he just missed and then the connections took him to Monmouth for a beaten 12,500 Claimer and he missed by less than a length. Both races were ridden by Dexter Haddock who is riding today as well. I think the improving form along with the return of the whip will result in this horse on top today.

Race 2

#1 Walk Me Home gets a second try over the Parx surface since joining the Penny Pearce barn for JKX racing. This horse was a game 2nd last time out but was a wide stalker the whole race. Today she breaks from the rail and gets an added half furlong. Adorno gets the call today, which picked up a win for the Pearce team on Tuesday. I think this horse is going to improve and should win today.

Race 3

#4 Posseineffecttoo had a wide bid last time out and shouldn’t be as wide today. Ruben Silvera gets the call on this one as jockey Jorge Gonzalez chooses the #2 I’am a Unicorn. I think Juan Carlos Guerrero will have this horse ready to improve as she is also owned by Guerrero. This horse is slightly improving and is cutting back a furlong which I think she will benefit from.

Race 4

#9 Our Uncle Drew is sitting on a huge effort if he can just piece it all together. He obviously prefers the turf but has been getting tough trips. Today he gets a weight decrease due to Courtney Giraldo taking the call here today which I am okay with. She gives him a 7 pound weight difference and they are bumping up the class today which will give this horse some value. Hopefully the weight differential and 3 trip over the turf is what he needs to break his maiden in start 34.

Race 5

#3 Bayleaf is trying her luck at beaten 8k company after leaving more restricted bottom level races. She is looking for 5 in a row this year and is in incredible form as of now. She should sit a perfect trip on the rail here today and this field isn’t much for the 8k beaten level. I think the 5 in a row today is very feasible.

Race 6

#7 Catch my Vibe was loaded last time out and has been in really good form. However, last time out he had a troubled trip and lacked room. Once he got the room he started his rally but it was too late. I think today Abner Adorno will have to give a better trip and hopefully he won’t get the horse in as much trouble and if he doesn’t this horse could run a big race at a big price.

Race 7

#4 Rapidashqueen is dropping in class and ships to Parx today from Pimlico. These small connections attract the top jockey today and this horse’s form going two back fits here. She isn’t much but she can run if the race sets up for her and I think today it will. Why else would Ruben Silvera take this call if this horse didn’t have a shot.

Race 8

#2 Prince of Rain is much the best in this field and I think the fact Inoel Beato and the Penn National connections are trying Parx again after Parx being the only track they haven’t won at is interesting. This race is not as salty as they usually are but this horse is by far the best and I think 6/5 would be a gift here.

Race 9

#13 Skye Snow hopefully will get in and if she does I think she will dominate this field. Usually in these turf races, there is one scratch at least and I hope that happens today. Ruben Silvera is named on this one but I don’t know if he will choose this one. Carlos David has been on fire this whole year and this horse is proven to be good on the turf. 5/1 would be a gift if this horse scratches in.

Race 10

#8 River Sonata gets blinkers on today for the first time at 5yo. She also gets back to the dirt and Silvestre Gonzalez sticks with this horse and he has been on fire over the past month. This horse is in slightly bad form but these cheap claimers can turn it around at any time and this field isn’t all that special. I like my chances with this horse at a price to end the card.
