Parx Racing 11/10/21

Parx Spot Plays

Race 1: #7 Margie Darest

  • Margie Darest should be able to win if she just improves a tad when switching over to dirt in her 2nd career start. This field is very bad but that makes sense as it is a Maiden 10K claiming race which is the lowest at Parx. I usually side with horses that are lightly raced when at this level and the rest of the field is very “career maiden” esque unlike this horse. I think the gate incident where she reared up at the break, cost her a good finish in debut. Now turning to dirt and going to Parx, she should be more prepared for a better race.

Race 3: #3 Quiet Please

  • Quiet Please actually should trip out here even with minimal early speed on paper. Usually in these cheaper races at Parx where there is limited early speed on paper, jockeys and trainers will try and send their horses earlier than normal to try and get an advantage on the lack of early speed presence. Ruben Silvera should know this by now as he is the leading rider here and by far the best jockey in the race. I fully expect him to sit comfortably in 3rd or 4th and make his one move. Since their is no legitimate early speed, whoever is on the lead should get tired, setting up an easier trip for Ruben Silvera and Quiet Please who also upgrades in barns by switching to Pino’s barn.

Race 7: #5 Skippin on Orchard

  • Skippin on Orchard is looking for 3 in a row. First time out for Pino and Pino is hitting at 21% first off the claim. This is also an upgrade in trainers. Since returning to Parx two races ago, this horse has turned his form around completely. I think he can win 3 in a row today and Paco Lopez returning for this horse off the claim each time is always a good sign. Should be close to the lead and be able to run right by late.
