Parx Spot Plays

Race 4: #4 Xenatown

  • Xenatown seems to be the closest to being ready to win and break their maiden. In her debut, she slightly earned the lead before fading to 4th during the turn and down the stretch. However, she returned for her second start and just missed and finished 2nd against similar and only lost that race by less than a length. Salgado and Freddy Velazquez have been linking up a lot recently and they have been winning. I think today this race will be another one.

Race 8: #10 Swift Factor

  • Swift Factor now is in her 3rd start of her career. She broke her maiden on debut and then was put on the shelf for almost 7 months before running her next race. That being said, I totally understand why she would be a little bit tired during her first race back. I think even after being tired she put on a good performance and now with that race under her belt and the connections running her back in 2 weeks compared to 7 months only proves to me that she is ready to go.

Race 10: #10 Absolute Anna

  • Absolute Anna didn’t fire first time out for Jose Santaella Calderon off the claim. However, I think this horse still has decent recent form and should be able to improve 2nd off the claim. They add blinkers today which she hasn’t worn in quite some time. This could lead to improvement. I hate the outside post but with a jockey like Jomar Torres who could be aggressive when need be, I think she will be closer to the pace today, hopefully not wide.
