Parx Spot Plays

Race 3: #6 Colonel Juan

  • Colonel Juan was running very well before taking the summer off. Now this 8yo gelding is back running in the afternoons. He is very solid over the off going and this track is the definition of sloppy. Should be able to hold his own against a small field.

Race 6: #7 Vics Cool Cat

  • This horse is a horse who performs better in the wet going. Ramos is the jockey today who has been riding very well all week and is slowly becoming a top apprentice at Parx if not THE top apprentice at Parx with Andy Hernandez coming to the end of his apprenticeship. I want to get the value on Ramos’s mounts while we can.

Race 7: #5 Calculated Breeze

  • Calculated Breeze won over the muddy surface last time out and I think Barbosa could give this horse a similar ride today. I like that he lasted and was game in victory last time. I don’t see any pressure here early on either, which should lead to a win if good enough.
