Parx Spot Plays

Race 1: #4 Party in the Sand

  • Party in the Sand is by far in the best form to me in this race. Lupe Guerrero and Luis Rivera have been on fire over the past 2 months and I think today they can win again. This horse is going to be running 3rd off the layoff here with 2 seconds with one of them coming at Penn National and one coming here at Parx. I think if this horse can break somewhat alertly, then she will be hard to beat today.

Race 6: #7 Jones Taxi

  • Jones Taxi ran his best race in the past 3-4 months two races ago and that came with Anthony Nunez aboard. This horse is a cheap horse, but that seems to be a trend throughout the card today. Jones Taxi won’t be anywhere near 44/1 like he was two races ago, but there will be some value today and I think Nunez can get more out of him today.

Race 8: #9 Wagon Boss

  • Wagon Boss might be the classiest horse on the whole card and that isn’t saying much. Wagon Boss had two 3rds at Saratoga this summer and now ships to Parx for Englehart and gets Monmouth jockey Hector Diaz Jr. He is also dropping in class and facing restricted company for the first time in a long time. I think today he gets that win even if it is a shipper from New York which tend to not do to well here.

Race 9: #8 Heated Battle

  • Heated Battle for Mike Aro had a horrible trip last time out at Timonium. He came rolling at the end and just missed. He stretches back out and jumps up in class to Maiden 10K and gets red hot Luis Rivera to ride. If he can break more alertly, he should win.
