Stronach 5 Show for Friday, February 7

Welcome to the maiden voyage for the Stronach Five Podcast. Your hosts, Peter Thomas Fornatale and Jonathon Kinchen, go over the five races in the sequence and explain how they plan on dividing up the contenders into As and Bs to play the bet more efficiently than the typical caveman approach.

Listen here (NOTE, races and tickets listed below):

This week’s races, which start at 3:50 ET are:

LEG A: LRL R8

LEG B: SA R1

LEG C: GP 8

LEG D: GG 3

LEG E: GP 10

This week’s tickets (before scratches) look like this

All As:

4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 with 3, 5 with 4, 7 with 1, 2, 5, 6 with 7

As with one B

2 with 3, 5 with 3, 5 with 4, 7 with 1, 2, 5, 6 with 7

4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 with 4 with 4, 7 with 1, 2, 5, 6 with 7

4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 with 3, 5 with 5 with 1, 2, 5, 6 with 7

4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 with 3, 5 with 4, 7 with 7 with 7

4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 with 3, 5 with 4, 7 with 1, 2, 5, 6 with 3, 9

You also have the option — budget permitting — to add tickets that use one A and two Bs. We’ll be getting into that concept more on future shows.

  • The first All A’s with one B ticket is wrong. You included the second leg twice, for a total of six legs.

  • Some suggested topics for future shows:

How often does the Stronach 5 carry over? Carryover risk increases the effective takeout rate, and the $1 minimum increases the carryover risk.

Which legs do you perceive as adding the most value to your ticket?

You mention the value of looking at will-pays if you are alive going into the last leg. Will-pays for multi-track bets are often hard to find. Where does one find the will-pays for the Stronach 5 online?
