Super Sunday Santa Late Pick 5 Analysis

PTF posting for @Blinkersoff420

Feb 7, 2021 – SA Late Pick 5

Welcome to Super Bowl Sunday and a late pick 5 made up of 41 entries pre scratch announcements. The Great Race Place lived up to the name yesterday with a .20 cent pick 6 force payout paying $24K +. My article yesterday, which was geared towards using horses with 7-2 and greater odds landed one winner, which paid $9.40 in the last race. The prices were there to be hit and to the winners of a pool which added 5.3 million dollars I am tipping my cap to you!

Onward with a look at a pick 3 play starting at 12:33 PT.

Race 4  F – Allowance 63000 N1X – Turf – 6 Furlongs – 4 ^

#4 – Greg’s Diva (8-5)

Not too thrilled about using a horse who previously has won one time out of 4 going five furlongs on the same surface as today’s race. It makes me a little hesitate but on the flip side the added panel might help her get a comfortable lead without pressing the gas all the way down. Looking at the run lines of other ladies entered in the race you do not see any which seem to want or like the lead. A few sporadic lines but not enough to show me Gonzalez will struggle grabbing the front. If there is strategy involved possibly another jockey or trainer in the race will see past performances, gun for lead.

#2 – Sapphire Kid (3-1)

A recent workout time on paper is a positive. Even better is the note from the DRF SA Clocker team suggesting she was just out for a stroll. Overall seems to be in great form and if she can get the pace to run at then a repeat winner is possible.

4-2

Race 5  Maiden Special Weight 61k – 6 ½ Furlongs – 3 YO

#2 – Mr. Possible (7-2)

At first, I wanted to follow the sheep and hop on Bezos. After a little digging and watching replays my mind is set to take the 7-2 price on Mr. Impossible. He ran a game 2nd to Concert Tour, who won yesterday in graded actions. Munnings being the sire is an added bonus and if the sprint thing does not work out Qaraaba (GB) has shown success with progeny going long on the dirt.

2 – 4 – 5

Race 6   F – OC50k/SAL50k – Turf – 6 Furlongs – 4 ^

#6 Translate (3-1)

Yes, the horse next door might have super speed, but she ran at the weird track configuration that is Los Al. I will take a shot with longer odds, coming out of a MSW and with a nice 48.1 last work.

#2 A G Indy (5-1)

Going with more value in the 2nd spot and will need improvement, hoping the turn back though with inside post position though can lead to a surprise.

6-2-7

Pick 3 Play = 2,4 / 2 / 6,2,7 is the base ticket. Using the last leg, I will weigh out bets based on opinion.
