Turfway Park Spot Plays for 03-24-23 By Jackson Muniz

Race 8: #5 Street Jam (10-1) to win

Be sure to check the scratches to confirm, but as it stands there is a lot of early speed lined up in here. The #2 Jubilee Bridge is the most likely contender to take advantage, but she’ll be a short price and has yet to put two good races together. I want to take a shot with a filly that I think has been begging to go two turns and that’s #5 Street Jam. She’s a filly that’ll be sitting a good trip from off the pace and should get first run on the deep closers.

She looked good two back stalking the pace and taking over in the stretch to win, I especially like that she began to inch away in the final furlong and galloped out way in front of the field. Last time out they tried cutting her back to six furlongs. She didn’t get the best of trips but did start to make up ground once she finally found daylight in the stretch and it looked to me like she was just getting going as she hit the wire. Furthermore, her midrace figures from Timeform US also indicate that she’ll enjoy two turns. In her last four races with figures she’s finished 96-94-94, 92-89-88, 84-84-85, and 99-96-96. Those running lines are all pretty even, suggesting she’ll really improve as the races get longer, and the fact she has those numbers over several races gives me even more confidence in her ability to stretch out. Strong win play at 10-1.
