2022 ITM Breeders Cup Wagering Guide and Content Preview

2022 Breeders Cup – In The Money Content Preview

The Breeders’ Cup is now less than a month away.

Keeneland is the host track of this year’s Breeders’ Cup World Championships.

Generally considered the best two days of horse racing of the year, we are pumped about the wagering opportunities that will be available the first weekend in November.

The Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series continues this weekend and we should have additional clarity once those races are complete.

With that in mind, we thought it might be a good time to share what we have planned across the ITM Network.

As always, we’ll have a mix of Free and ITM Plus Exclusive content.  Our goal is to provide information that gives you confidence as you wager.

If you’re already an ITM Plus Subscriber – Thank You! If not, this weekend is, without a doubt, the best time to try ITM Plus. Because of how the racing calendar works out, if you sign up for ITM Plus today, you’ll have access to all of our offerings through the Breeders’ Cup. Just click the ad below.

Breeders’ Cup Classic Preview:

Flightline has been nothing short of spectacular. He left little doubt in the TVG Pacific Classic and figures to ship to Kentucky as the shortest-priced favorite in Breeders’ Cup Classic history.

It remains to be seen whether his presence will cause some horses to reroute to the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile.

Regardless, the presence of Flightline adds to the appeal and results in a challenging handicapping exercise. Those opposing him will certainly be rewarded if they’re right while his backers will be forced to get creative with their wagering strategy to extract value from the race.

Other Things We are Looking Forward to at Breeders’ Cup:

The previous Breeders’ Cup events held at Keeneland featured a strong European contingent. We are excited to see who ultimately shows up as a few of our stateside turf divisions are a bit hungry. Specifically, there are no American turf horses in the top dozen or so horses in ante-post wagering.

Cave Rock is another superstar in the making with several already mentioning triple crown possibilities. The two prior runnings of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Stakes contested at Keeneland featured runners that held up very well on the Kentucky Derby Trail (Nyquist in 2015 and Essential Quality in 2020).

Jack Christopher has emerged as an elite sprinter and we are excited to see him face elders in the Breeders Cup Sprint.

War Like Goddess, last race aside, is an exciting American turf prospect for a couple of different races – that adds to the intrigue and challenge. She could run in the Filly and Mare Turf or go for the bigger prize and take on the boys in the Turf at a distance that might suit her.

Golden Pal loves the Keeneland Turf course and he’s another contender that is expected to be well-backed at the windows although Highfield Princess is currently the ante-post favorite.

The Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge:

The Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge (BCBC) is a live money handicapping contest featuring one of the richest prize pools of the year.

You can still qualify on HorsePlayers or enter the tournament directly.

The Buy-In is $10,000 and features a top prize of $360,000 (based on 500 entries).

  • I AM GREATLY LOOKING FORWARD TO ALL THE BC CONTENT FROM IN THE MONEY MEDIA. HAVE YOU GIVEN ANY THOUGHT TO A LEXINGTON LIFESTYLES SHOW TO GIVE US FOOD AND ENTERTAINMENT OPTIONS IN THE AREA?

  • Does ITM maintain any listing of track biases? I used to maintain one myself, a “few” years ago. Marty Dermer (Turf MD) used to maintain a bias listing. Miss that man! Recall Marty making his best bet on BC @ Arlington in 2002 on a mare in one of those pre-BC races – she loved the soft going on the sod, and won for a price. See you at BC 2022!
