Aqueduct Plays for 4/16/23 By Robbie Fazzone

AQUEDUCT 4/16/23

6- WHITEBEAM- Comes over from Europe, where she’s run well, to make US debut for C. Brown. Will have to improve off that form today, but Brown does very well with these types and she has been training along nicely down in Florida. Can give the favorite all she can handle in the Plenty of Grace.

A- 1- Malavath

B- 4- Runaway Rumour

3- RUM RUNNER READY- Ran okay in lone turf race when setting the pace and fading going one mile against filly Sp. Wts. at Ellis Park last summer. Has since been well beaten at the Sp. wt. level against some okay horses, on both dirt and synthetic, and Morey will give her another shot on the grass for her first start in two months in this filly 40k maiden claimer at six furlongs. Removes blinkers after wearing them in her latest, fits well with this field and she is a threat in here.

B- 9- Tap It Up, 10- Wonder Girl

9- RUNAWAY ROCKETTE- Ran well in defeat when last turf sprinting in back to back races last fall. In the first of those two races, she took a hard bump at the start, steadied while awaiting room on the turn, before finishing with an inside stretch run in a close 4th place finish at this filly 1x allowance level in September. She then followed that up with a solid third place run at the same level and trip, where she was forwardly placed under a hold, came out to target the leader turning for home, took a brief narrow lead at the eighth pole, but weakened late to finish 3rd in October. Ran a solid 2nd in an off the turfer in November and then showed little, again on the dirt, when last raced in December. Gets back to the grass off the four month freshening in this turf sprint for filly 1x allowance runners and gets Castellano for a solid barn that often ride him on live horses. Should return ready and is a serious threat today.
