Gulfstream Park – Late Pick 5 Sequence – Friday (February 06, 2026) – John Pinder

Late Pick 5 Sequence

Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion.  To be more judicious with our bankroll in 2026, I will be taking a more targeted approach in Pick 5 selections and include some win bets and doubles when the opportunities arise.

Race 6 SELECTIONS:  2 – 6

#2 Child of the Moon has not been to the races in over a year but we know that trainer Chad Brown doesn’t have a problem getting talented runners to be ready off of long layoffs.  #6 Design is better than her morning line odds indicates. She will be running second off the layoff for trainer Martin Drexler; if she gets the right setup she will be in contention for the win.

Race 7 SELECTIONS:  1 – 8

#1 Late Night Text has never been a route of ground but has the pedigree and running style that should excel at two turns.  #8 Wujood is a first time start for trainer Todd Pletcher. She is a homebred for Shadwell farms sired by Curlin out of a Tapit mare.

Race 8 SELECTIONS:  5 – 8 – 1

#5 Karaya is another runner that we will be looking to make a positive return after a really long layoff.  Trainer Mark Casse has been cooking with gas this meet and we will look to keep the fire going.  #8 Coco Abarrio didn’t have an easy trip last time out as she made her return, but still had game effort.   #1 Abientot will get Lasix for the first time and a shorter distance to work with, she has good tactical speed.

Race 9 SELECTIONS:  3  – 4

#3 Rachel’s Coach fits well in this spot and with his strong connections and affinity for Gulfstream Park we wont get a good price on this six-year-old gelding but cannot leave him off the ticket.  #4 Air Force Cruising will be the latest selection that we will attempt to get to the wire first after being away for a long time; he is talented and had a good recent workout.

Race 10 SELECTIONS:   3 – 4

#3 Astin Style is a logical contender in today’s finale, running first of the claim for trainer Philip Antonacci, who has been red hot with only a small number of starters; jockey Edward Zayas retains the mount.  #4 Ramblin Betts should improve in his second career start, on debut he ran well with a hot pace before tiring badly.

Today’s pick 5 ticket $.50 base (pre scratches) :  2,6 / 1,8/ 1,5,8 / 3,4 / 3,4   cost:  $24

Race 6:                   $20 Win on the 6 cost: $ 20

Race 8:                   $3 Double 1,5,8  with 3-4   cost: $18

Total Cost:          $62
