In The Money Telegraph
Friday, June 19, 2026 · Royal Ascot Day 4 · By ITM Staff
Two Group 1s headline Friday — the Commonwealth Cup and the Coronation Stakes. But first, a Thursday that wrote itself into the history books.
Day 3: O’Brien’s Historic 100th
Thursday will be remembered for history. Scandinavia caught last year’s winner Trawlerman in the final strides of the Gold Cup — with Sweet William third — to give Aidan O’Brien his 100th Royal Ascot winner, the first trainer ever to reach the century, and a 10th win in the Gold Cup itself.
It was a vintage day for ITM readers, too. Nola Soul, the one nearly the whole room agreed on, landed the Chesham, with Dove’s Enceladus winning the King George V at 7/1. And Steven Bonnick’s race-by-race notes were on fire, flagging the winners of the Britannia (Moonfall), the Hampton Court (Generic) and the Buckingham Palace (Mezcala) on top of a stack of placers.

Watch: PTF & Michael Adolphson Preview Day 4
PTF and Michael Adolphson go through Friday’s seven-race card, headlined by two Group 1s. In the Commonwealth Cup, Adolphson takes on the short-priced favourite Venetian Sun with the value he sees in Division; and in the Coronation Stakes he digs into the Coolmore puzzle of Precise versus True Love — siding with True Love at the bigger price — before unearthing his usual clutch of big-priced each-way angles across the card.

Alex Sausville’s Day 4 Card
Alex Sausville goes through all seven, taking a contrarian swing in the Coronation with the fresh-off-the-bench Balantina — happy to leave True Love off his ticket — and siding with the Irish raider Havana Anna in the Commonwealth Cup.
His card: King’s Prize (Albany), Havana Anna (Commonwealth Cup), Warrant Holder (Duke of Edinburgh), Balantina (Coronation), Hope Queen (Sandringham), Venetian Prince (King Edward VII) and Westport (Palace of Holyroodhouse).

Steven Bonnick’s Day 4 Closer Look
Fresh off a Thursday that flagged three winners, Steven Bonnick’s race-by-race analysis runs through every Friday contest with the ratings, sectionals and draw angles. He makes the unbeaten Water To Wine vulnerable at even money in the King Edward VII, preferring Causeway; rates Venetian Sun the best in the Commonwealth Cup; and sees Precise as very hard to beat in the Coronation.
