Nick Tammaro’s Aqueduct Analysis – Thursday, February 4

AQUEDUCT – 2/4/2021

RACE 1: 6-7-5-2

#6 NOT PHAR NOW looms a very heavy favorite and the one to beat in the day’s opener taking the biggest class drop in racing.  The pace in his most recent start was very strong and he fared well given the early move.

RACE 2: 1/1A-6-2-3

The stronger half of the Wayne Potts-trained entry is #1 PLAYWRIGHT, who made a prolonged move along the slower inside paths most recently before checking in fourth against similar foes.  He will be a major therat from start to finish in a race that’s short on speed.

RACE 3: 3-1-2-5

The recent rapid improvement shown by #3 HALO CITY is too significant to ignore.  She’s now back on short rest off a claim and should be a major late threat at a square price.

RACE 4: 4-3-6-2

#4 OPEN LENGTHS goes first off a claim by Mertkan Kantarmaci and exits a dull effort off of which he can rebound.  Kantarmaci is 19% with dirt routers first off of claims, good for a $2.03 ROI and he can be in an ideal stalking position early.

RACE 5: 1-4-2

#1 DREAMS UNTOLD exits a smashing win against PA breds at Parx where he stalked the pace and pulled clear late.  He has good early speed and can use it from the inside with the meet’s top pilot astride.

RACE 6: 1-5-7-4

The rail trip endured by #1 JAKE ROCKS most recently hindered his chances, as did a sluggish early pace.  He figures to get a better pace setup here and faces a softer field from top to bottom than he did on January 9.

RACE 7: 7-6-2-1

Moving down to the inside late last time out wrecked any chances #7 MORNING BREEZ had of upsetting that field.  He is now in an ideal spot to stalk and pounce under the bug boy Luis Cardenas and the slower early pace will help his chances.

RACE 8: 9-5-3-8

The outside post, experience he gained last time and Lasix that #9 BINGO JOHN has going for him is notable.  He took some support on debut and stands to improve here with that race behind him.  Look for him to stalk and pounce in here.
