AQUEDUCT – 1/8/22

RACE 1: 3-2-8-6

Things will make more sense for #3 FROSTY INVASION at second asking since she debuted against MSW company in a race taken off the turf.  She gets Lasix and blinkers now and should be wound tighter for this engagement.

RACE 2: 2-5-1-3

#2 CHOWDA has the speed and an inside post to be a factor from the opening bell.  He was up against it last time out sitting off the pace against tougher while buried on the inside.  He should chase the rail runner if that one shows speed and that’ll put this son of Emcee in the driver’s seat.

RACE 3: 9-7-3-1

#9 ESCAPOLOGY broke slowly from the rail last time out and wound up having to rally into a moderate pace.  She has shown signs of having serious ability in prior training and her last race was her best to date.  You’ll get a square price here to boot.

RACE 4: 2-5-1-7

#2 SEND THE WORD is an interesting price play here as the potential main speed.  He was out of the gate very poorly last time out and raced wide the whole way.  The rail was likely decent that afternoon and this son of Paynter had no chance.  A cleaner break can lead to a forwardly placed trip.

RACE 5: 5-12-4-7

In what is a tremendously competitive race on paper, #5 LOKOYA ROAD goes 2nd off a claim.  He gets an upgrade at pilot and has the right running style for this affair given the pace scenario.  There’s reason to believe things will heat up and that’ll help this son of Quality Road, who will be a fair price as well.

RACE 6: 8-5-9-1

#8 AMERICAN GENTLEMAN has taken a clear step forward in two starts since being claimed by Gustavo Rodriguez.  He was always within range of a hot pace last time out before encountering traffic trouble in mid-stretch.  He should enjoy an ideal outside stalking trip today under Javier Castellano.

RACE 7: 12-10-6-8

#12 IMPAZIBLE DONNA will benefit from a hot pace in this field, as the tempo should be fast in the opening stages.  She enters off a 3rd place finish when pace compromised last time out and should be wound tighter second off a layoff.   Look for her in the waning stages.

RACE 8: 5-4-6-1

#5 MY BOY TATE is the one to beat off a solid runner-up finish in a NY Stallion Series event last month.  He moved aggressively to reach the front before being outfinished and now draws outside the other pace types.  That’ll afford Eric Cancel the opportunity to put him in stalk and pounce territory from the outset.

RACE 8: 3-13-5-10

#3 ROYAL CURRENCY is a second timer who showed plenty of life on debut for Charlie Baker.  She now gets Lasix as she returns off a break after running into a smashing debut winner last time out in Sue Ellen Mishkin.  This is a far softer spot and a chance for her to improve.
