AQUEDUCT – 3/1/2024

RACE 1: 2-4-1-5

#2 SNAPPIN BUTTONS is a first timer by Union Rags (10% debut sire) out of a mare who dropped 3 winners.  The workouts look solid for this filly and she’s landed in a particularly soft spot for a barn that has had plenty of success over the years with first time starters.

RACE 2: 4-5-1A-3

#4 HONORARY DEGREE endured a wide trip against conditioned claimers at a higher price tag last out at Parx.  He now lands in a race loaded with pace and should be a strong late player here at a price.  If things really heat up on the front end, it will only help this son of Malibu Moon who has oodles of good back form.

RACE 3: 7-3-5-1

#7 VENGE is dropping back in for a tag and ran his best race yet the last time he was in for 40k.  He is a 10-race maiden, which never inspires confidence, but figures to be in an ideal spot stalking on the outside.  The weight break with the bug boy on board should only help his chances in a very winnable spot.

RACE 4: 1/1A-6-5-2

Either half of the David Jacobson-trained entry of #1 KANT BEAT THE ROCK and #1A UNCLE GEORGE is capable of winning here, though the latter might be in slightly better form.  ‘George can stalk the pace and has taken to the main track nicely since being switched to it by Jacobson.  Their running styles complement each other well given Kant Beat the Rock will be rolling late.

RACE 5: 6-4-1-7

#6 DREAMAWAYSEVEN is a late threat today off a third place finish against slightly better when she rallied into a slow pace.  Things should heat up a bit more in this affair and she paired up top figures in that recent 3rd place run.  That often signals another forward move, which would be more than enough to get her to the winner’s circle.

RACE 6: 1-2-3-5

#1 REDDINGTON is the one to catch this afternoon as he bids for a fourth straight win and third off a claim.  He is loose as can be on paper with the only real obstacle being the distance.  The pace he set last time out was strong, and the runner-up has already come back to win.  If he runs back to that race they’ll never touch him today.

RACE 7: 5-1-6-3

#5 LIFE CHANGER is a major player as he continues to work his way back into form since being claimed by Mertkan Kantarmaci.  He was a good third last out fighting all the way to the wire and retains Kendrick Carmouche in search of his 5th straight win.  His ability to settle and make one run is an asset today.

RACE 8: 5-1-2-7

Why can’t #5 ROCCO STRONG make it two in a row?  He was very impressive in beating N1X company last out sitting off a fast pace before bursting clear late.  Distance appears to be his friend and the favorite in here has only run one big race that would make him tough to handle.  The pace should be in line to help a runner coming from just off it like this son of Shackleford.
