AQUEDUCT ANALYSIS – 03/16/2025
RACE 1: 4-2-6-5
#4 REMEMBER THE CHIEF is in a new barn after a dull run last August at Saratoga and is protected from the 20k tag because of the layoff. He has the speed to be involved early and the barn here has good numbers with layoff returnees.
RACE 2: 4-3-5-1
#4 KNICKKNACK is a second timer who should improve with experience, as most runners from the Horacio De Paz barn generally do. This gal showed some late life after a slow break and should be a major player if able to get out of the gate at 2nd asking.
RACE 3: 8-3-4-5
All signs point to #8 VERY SATISFACTORY being extremely tough to beat at a short price. He has had plenty of brushes with winning and has successfully avoided the winner’s circle, but this race is so soft he almost can’t lose. Famous last words…
RACE 4: 3-6-5-2
#3 BARBRATINA is helped by the scratch of the morning line favorite as she returns from a layoff for new trainer Rick Dutrow, Jr. This gal ended her 3YO campaign abruptly with a win against N1X competition and clearly has upside. The worry is this high percentage barn’s weak numbers with layoff returnees.
RACE 5: 7-5-3-1
The class drop in play for #7 SCREAMING UNCLE is significant in that he has been facing much better and now goes 2nd off a layoff returning to a dry racetrack. That will help his cause overall and he figures to be a big price based on these connections.
RACE 6: 4-5-7-8
#4 SCHLOMO has failed at short prices in consecutive starts and now adds blinkers to possibly sharpen him up early in the opening stages. He was better when he had more speed, so that equipment change should help in what amounts to his last real opportunity to clear the maiden ranks.
RACE 7: 8-1-5-4
#8 MILES AND MILES exploded last out with a huge run against MSW company at 9 panels and looks like a major pace player once again. Exaggerated margins can often be attributed to circumstances that present themselves sparingly such as this guy’s last outing. If he can get the lead again, he’s a major threat for top honors.
RACE 8: 1-5-2-8
The trip that #1 WHAT’S UP BRO endured last out was an absolute nightmare. He was in tight early and steadied multiple times before getting caught behind a wall of horses in upper stretch. A clean run will make him a major player and that effort, even with the trouble, represented a clear move forward from his two back run over this oval.
RACE 9: 8-7-4-6
#8 VEGAS WEEKEND has held solid form of late and was wide chasing a hot pace last time out. A rider switch will help, though this gal will likely have to revert back to her old tactics of sitting back to make one run. That would definitely maximize her chances of winning.
