Nick Tammaro’s Belmont at the Big A Pick 6 Analysis – May 11, 2024

BAQ PICK 6 ANALYSIS – 5/11/2024

RACE 6: 3-7-6-1

#3 THE WINE STEWARD is the one to beat as the main speed on paper after the scratches in this field.  He should be in control from the outset and came back as a 3YO just as good as he was as a juvenile.  There’s still plenty of upside with this NY bred son of Vino Rosso.

RACE 7: 9-8-6-2

As inclined as you may be to take a swing against the Charlie Appleby trainees here, #9 NATIONS PRIDE is clearly the one to beat.  He comes back from a lengthy break to make his 2024 debut and the highlight of his 2023 campaign was a North American win in the Canadian International.  He has enough speed to be prominent throughout and should be tough to handle here.

RACE 8: 4-3-8-10

#4 MULKEY was heavily backed on debut and wound up a competitive second by repeat winner Lake Abenakee.  She should get better with a race behind her and this gal had no shortage of speed in her unveiling.  That undoubtedly makes her a major player here with her main rival one door inside.

RACE 9: 6-1/1A-2-3

#6 OCEAN ATLANTIQUE is the one to catch here as the main speed in a paceless affair.  His best races make him a major threat and he will improve off his last.  He was pace compromised last time while too far behind and aggressive tactics will make a major difference today.

RACE 10: 3-2-9-5

#3 SWEET MYSTERY is the one to beat from a speed figure perspective and comes in off a strong effort last out when 2nd at this level.  This is her second outing off a layoff and her best races put her among the main contenders in this spot.

RACE 11: 16-15-11-5

#16 LUCKY AND GORGEOUS goes 2nd off a layoff and should be in an ideal position early after improving last time out.  She draws well outside and gets in light once again for the underrated barn of Pat Reynolds.
