SARATOGA SELECTIONS AND ANALYSIS BROUGHT TO YOU BY @BUCCHEROSTUD | LEARN MORE AT  http://IHSTALLIONS.com

RACE 1: 7-4-5-6

The stats that trainer Todd Pletcher has put up with horses like #7 INDY RAGS are too strong to overlook.  Over the last 5 years, Pletcher is 5-9 at Saratoga with maiden dirt routers dropping from MSW races into maiden claimers ($5.56 ROI).  This colt showed nothing when last seen over a sealed track and should appreciate a return to a dry strip.

RACE 2: 8-4-2-7

#8 TEDDY’S ROCKET handily out-performed debut runner-up British Invasion when they were paired together in the morning on July 14.  This colt’s pedigree lacks any turf in it, but the barn is one you can clearly trust when debuting a runner on the weeds.  He should have enough speed to stay within range from the outset this afternoon.

RACE 3: 1/1A-6-3-2

The runners that #1 GOLDEN DEGREE has been facing are far tougher than what she’ll face today/. Trainer Linda Rice claimed this gal for 30k early in 2024 and has made a mint since, as she has scored three times, including a N1X at Aqueduct last fall.  She should be quick enough to get loose in the opening stages and #1A PROUD FOOT is an insurance policy as she goes first off a claim with improving form.

RACE 4: 8-1-7-6

#8 BREATH AWAY returns to the allowance ranks and will be treated with Lasix for the first in a year.  She was a winner the last time she was out of stakes company, taking a N2X over this oval.  Her recent form is strong, and she was an unlucky third two back at Gulfstream.  This red-hot barn is hitting on all cylinders and the class drop should pay dividends for this daughter of Bated Breath.

RACE 5: 1-5-3-6

The drop in for a tag will help #1 FISCAL DRAG, who ships in from Monmouth for trainer Chad Brown.  The barn hits at a solid clip on dirt with maiden droppers (29%) and the tactical speed he showed last time out is a weapon.  The addition of blinkers should help keep him from losing a great deal of early ground on the cutback as well.

RACE 6: 9-10-7-6

In a super competitive event for this class level, #9 SPIRIT DOLL gets the nod given the strength of a recent workout.  She posted a bullet gate drill over this oval that drew rave reviews from the clockers, and it signals her readiness.  The dam here was stakes placed, and her dam was capable Beyer Speed Figures in the 80s, so there’s plenty to like about this daughter of Tiz the Law.

RACE 7: 11-12-8-10

It seems almost impossible to beat #11 LOVE CERVERE in this affair, as she comes off two straight stakes wins since cutting back in distance.  This daughter of Into Mischief is 3-3 sprinting in her brief career and showed more early speed when victorious last time out at Woodbine.  The Thorograph figure she earned that day, a 3, would make her a very likely winner if duplicated this afternoon.

RACE 8: 6-9-3-7

The powerhouse win of #6 IRON DOME last time out makes him a prohibitive favorite this afternoon.  He rolled home last out at this trip and should have no issue going 9 panels once again.  The majority of this field is overmatched on paper and should be no match for this improving son of Into Mischief.

RACE 9: 7-1-4-10

#7 VALUATION METRIC broke his maiden in a stakes race that included the solid turfer Tiz Dashing.  He now returns off a break as the atypical N1X eligible stake winner.  Trainer Chad Brown is a strong 25% with turf routers off 180+ day breaks at the Spa ($2.33 ROI).  The late kick this colt possesses makes him a major player in a spot where he likely won’t be favored.

RACE 10: 7-8-5-1

The turf pedigree of #7 SOHO NIGHTS is good enough to make this the top pick.  The 2nd family on the dam side is strong, as her second dam was Much Obliged, a turf stake winner.  This filly’s dam was a 2x turf winner and progeny of Volatile are 8% on debut.  The speed she possesses will come in handy as she moves to the weeds for Mike Trombetta.
