Early Pick 4 sequence:
Race 2 SELECTIONS: 1 – 6
#1 Hard Belle has a good mix of early and late speed. Has been pressing right off the pace lately and that tactic should do well in the spot today. #6 Mr Tito’s also brings to this race a balanced attack but likes to give the competition more of a head start, should be fresh off the layoff.
Race 3 SELECTIONS: 4 – 5 – 1
#4 Santorini is a well-bred Twirling Candy colt that moves into the Pletcher barn and gets Lasix for the first time. #5 Scramble has been knocking at the door in all three prior attempts achieving solid speed figures, first off the layoff for Barclay Tagg, who has solid stats with returning runners. #1 Battlefield Park is a War Front colt that gets Lasix for the first time. He debuted last time out and set a strong pace before yielding.
Race 4 SELECTIONS: 3 – 5 – 7
#3 Detroit City is very fast out of the gate and although he can sometimes go too fast and flatten out, should be very competitive in this spot. Jockey Paco Lopez will be in the irons and that is also a plus, as he does his best work on the lead. #5 Rockstar Ro ships down from Woodbine for trainer Kevin Attard. This five-year-old son of Gemologist is always close and is cutting back in distance from his normal attempts and 6 and 7Furlongs. #7 Heymackit’sjack moves to the barn of John C. Kimmel and will be trying the All-Weather surface for the first time. He has good speed and has been working out very well in the mornings. Coming off a three-month layoff he should be fresh and ready to give a good account.
Race 5 SELECTIONS: 9 – 2 – 3
#9 Broadway Force is a home-bred for Chiefswood Stables Limited. She will be making her second lifetime start today and getting Lasix for the first time. On debut, which was over a year ago, she ran a good first race earning a moderate speed figure. #2 Cindylouwho returns from a four-month rest for trainer Nicholas Palmer. Since moving to the Palmer barn this lightly raced mare has come very close in both her attempts. Like a skilled marksman this operation doesn’t take a lot of shots but when they do, they plan to hit the target. #3 Sweet Curalina didn’t do any running early in her debut last time out at Churchill, but the last portion of the race she ran home strong.
Let’s make it happen!!!
