Late Pick 5
Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion. – Let’s make it happen!!!

Race 4 SELECTIONS: 5 – 3 – 6
#5 Into Touring is the horse with the most upside in today’s opening leg of the late pick 5. She should appreciate the added distance and will be running first off the claim for new trainer Peter Walder. #3 Built Different has a versatile running style and she is very competitive in and around this level; I don’t know if she is worthy of the 8-5 morning line odds. #6 Zisisit ran at this distance and class level last time out but that was on the All-Weather; switches to the turf today and gets the meet’s leading jockey Irad Ortiz.
Race 5 SELECTIONS: 4 – 5 – 3
#4 Roll On Big Joe is an improving son of Prospective that has great early speed. He is cutting back in distance and has the potential to take them gate to wire. #5 Rockin Roller is another youngster that continues to improve in speed and consistency; last time out he won a similar race on the All-Weather surface. #3 Bouncer returns from a five month layoff for trainer Mark Casse; he drops in class and will be getting Lasix for the first time.
Race 6 SELECTIONS: 5 – 1 – 6
#5 Grand Valley returns from a three months rest for trainer Victor Barboza Jr. When last seen this four year-old son of Klimt ran a close second at this level, prior to that he has run in much tougher races. #1 Stealththirtyfour steps in class after being claimed last time out for new owner-trainer Mary Eppler. This son of Shackleford has developed good early speed and the cut back in distance should allow him the opportunity to do well in this spot. #6 Mystic Lancelot has not been to the races for more than a year but when last seen he was competing at higher levels going longer. This could be a comeback and get in shape race or it could be a let’s change things up a little bit, if he is ready off the layoff, we will have him on the ticket.
Race 7 SELECTIONS: 1 – 6 – 7
#1 Charlie’s Wish returns to Gulfstream Park after starting the year off over at Tampa Bay Downs. While over at TBD she ran against open company at the non graded stakes level, dropping in class and cutting back in distance she should be very competitive in today’s seventh. #6 The Mrs fits at this level and is in good form for trainer Michael Yates, she has good tactical speed and has never finished off the board in her four career starts. #7 Dream Concert ships in from Tampa Bay Downs where she faced state bred company and was unable to sustain her pace late; has the opportunity to improve today as it will be only her third lifetime start.
Race 8 SELECTIONS: 5 – 8 – 9
#5 Laniakea Storm ran a solid second place finish at this level last time out, that effort was first off of a long layoff; retains the services of jockey Irad Ortiz. #8 Spectacular Gal was claimed at this level and will be making her first start for trainer Bobby Dibona. The new barn is changing a few things that could help, adding blinkers and a jockey change to Luis Saez. #9 Lexinator will be making her second start off the layoff and will be running second off the claim for trainer Rohan Crichton. Last time was at this same level at a similar distance when she faded late, today she will be cutting back to 7.5Furlongs from a mile.
Today’s ticket cost .50 base (pre scratches) : $121.50
