Parx Spot Plays

Race 3: #5 Jean Valjean

  • Jean Valjean is in a good spot here. His best races came at Parx and now he gets Kendrick Carmouche in the saddle. There is enough speed in this race where he can sit just off and make his one move. If the speed doesn’t go, Jean Valjean is going to be placed forward enough that he could end up with the lead himself. Either way, I think this is the one to beat.

Race 7: #7 Sovereign Change

  • This horse should benefit from this race coming off the turf. Jamie Ness is always on fire and this horse shows a ton of early speed in his dirt form. He has been facing tougher recently and with all the scratches, he seems to be the horse to beat on paper. If Ruben can break clean out of the gate, then this one is the horse to catch.

Race 8: #6 Good Source

  • Good Source was impressive in its debut. Mychel Sanchez drew off with this horse and he was a little bored toward the end of the race but still held on convincingly. I think the 2nd time out and the added furlong of distance should help however. This one seems to be a push button and hopefully Mychel doesn’t push that button too early.
