Parx Racing 5/5/21

Race 1- 1M 70y MCL40K

Picks- 4-2-1

#4 Pylon should get the lead today with Anthony Nunez. Joe Taylor is dropping him down in class slightly and he should benefit from that. I think if Nunez can have him break clean and in front, then this horse will be tough to catch on the class drop.

#2 S Man performed well when he was in for the tag two races ago and then they tried MSW company and added Ruben Silvera and he broke poorly which led to a lackluster performance. However, they drop him back in for a tag and keep Ruben Silvera today. He could be tough with a clean break from the gate.

#1 Super Houdini is an 0/12 maiden and ships to Parx from Maryland for Claudio Gonzalez today. This will be his 2nd try off the layoff and they put the red hot Dexter Haddock aboard. If the pace collapses this is the horse I want as he is a horse that comes from the clouds.

Race 2- 6F OC16K/SAL16K

Picks- 7-1A-2

#7 Mon Cherie is coming to Parx after running at Churchill where she was claimed by Michael Pino. I think she will improve with the barn switch and surface switch to Parx. Pino is 22% first off the claim and I think that this filly has potential.

#1A Mustn’t Grumble seems to be the classiest horse here in my opinion and the better of the two entries here. I’m guessing if both horses do run, that Ruben Silvera should take this one. Lou Linder is on fire and I expect him to keep it up here.

#2 One Tough Rose looks for two in a row after going to Penn National to win in MSW company. Nunez gets the call today and I think she will be on the lead today.

Race 3- 6 1/2F CLM7500N2L

Picks- 5-3-8

#5 J Wass is dropping to the correct level for him in my opinion today. This horse isn’t much but has competed better against tougher and drops to the bottom today for Scott Lake and Dexter Haddock. Should be tough here.

#3 No Fly Zone should be close to the lead with Ruben Silvera for Jorge Diaz. Two races ago Ruben rode this horse and just missed after trying to go gate to wire. I think the only way this horse performs well, is if alone on the lead and today hopefully Ruben can help provide that.

#8 Blackjack Jedi should run better off the layoff and with the apprentice Jonathon Ocasio aboard. This horse’s best races were with lighter weight on him and I think that could be key here. He should be sitting right off the pacesetters and could be able to make one run today.

Race 4- 1M 70Y CLM5000N1Y

Picks- 5-7-3

#5 Rings of Jupiter is my top choice here but this race could easily be an all race to close out the Pick 4. Laprida is by far the best jockey here and this horse is in best form. However, those key factors still don’t sell me on this horse. This horse might be better than this field but he still doesn’t like to win.

#7 Eden Ridge should be closing late but there isn’t much pace in here. This horse is 0/9 lifetime at Parx and hasn’t even hit the board. Uriah St. Lewis has been doing well this week so maybe he can keep the streak of solid performances up today.

#3 Dubrovsky has some back class and has performed better against tougher opponents in his career. However, he is getting old and has been showing his lack of interest at the races recently. Abel Mariano doesn’t ride much currently so seeing him on this horse is pretty cool. I expect Abel to put this horse in the right spot and hopefully he will have enough in the tank to win.

Pick 4-

1,2,4,6

1,2,7

3,5

All

=$84

If you don’t want to use all, which I only recommend if you have a big bankroll, I would just use my top 3 or just the #5 Rings of Jupiter as a single in race 4.
