In The Money Media’s Peter Thomas Fornatale (PTF) is joined by Jonathon Kinchen (JK) sit down to analyze horse racing action from Belmont Park for Friday (Sept. 18), a day which also features the Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup 2026 as part of the ITM Horseplayers Tour!
The Jockey Club Gold Cup is part of the Breeders’ Cup Win and You’re In Series for the Breeders’ Cup Classic, and this year’s edition attracts defending Breeders’ Cup Classic 2025 champion Forever Young as he makes his first starts since a runner-up finish to Magnitude in the Dubai World Cup 2026 back in March at Meydan Racecourse. The winner of over $30 million in purses is listed as the 3-5 morning-line favorite and will face just four other rivals with Kentucky Derby 2025 champion Sovereignty opting to miss the Jockey Club Gold Cup. Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott runs two in the race with Baeza, last year’s third-place finisher in Kentucky Derby 2025, as well as longshot Stars and Stripes while the remaining two in the field are Phileas Fogg and Render Judgement.
