Been 18 months since I posted any written content and by the time the Inner Circle show starts Saturday morning most of these races will be over so thought would share some thoughts. I know what your thinking..
What does this guy in Southwest KY know about horses in Europe… The Answer is just enough to be dangerous to my bankroll !!!
As always I will be brief
The Everest – I have never bet a penny against Ka Ying Rising!! I have watched every race he has ran!! (NOT LIVE lol ) He is a superstar!!!
But I am betting Tempted while hoping I lose at the same time.
ASCOT Saturday
Race 1 PASS – Two Year Stakes is a pass for me with no opinion worth backing. If 8 Satellite of Love was to hold at the 5-1 range I might have a small action wager but mostly just a watch race.
Race 2 – Is another spot my opinion is not strong as the 2 mile marathon races are not exactly in my wheel house although I do follow closely.
9 Highwayman looks to go off favored and deservingly so as he is 3 for 3 since stretching out. I would lean in his direction or to 3 Daiquiri Bay that did win here at Ascot going 1 3/4 in June and is coming in winning 3 straight.
Race 3 is one of the better betting races on the day. 1 Almeraq is going to go off around even money in straight turf sprint and looks to get the setup but I cannot take that price in this type of field.
Race is full of speed unfortunately for the two horse I like are speed horses and the horse I will be betting I have been waiting on for this spot so I am committed.
Win / Place Bet – 7 Marvelman (30-1) I have been waiting on this horse to get to a GD/Firmer turf and if the rain holds off today is the day. His best races came back in 2025 in races going 5/8th… Will be contending for the lead early and has the stamina to stay on when the other speed falters.
16 Soul Love(20-1) will take on the boys here and is the quickest of the speed. Her races at Nass and York over quicker courses are fast. She has to answer the class test while contending with some other pace horses but the price is right.
Race 4 has another heavy favorite in 3 Kalpana who has not done much wrong but looking to beat her today in a race lacking pace. 12 Sugar Island is in this race as a rabbit who is the only speed horse other then the horse I am betting.
WIN BET – 9 Johanna Walsh( listed ML 10-1 but looks like she is going to be around 5-1) Toss out the last at York over a soft going. Her race 2 back at Curragh was impressive and looks to get the same type trip today stalking Sugar Island who will stop…
I will back up with the 3 & 4 over 9 in Exactas if the money is right.
Race 5 I was surprised when Constitution River was not in here but more on him later…
10 Talk Of New York has gradually improved all season and his last at New Market was impressive. Will love the ground and has a better post than his main rival GStaad who is drawn outside in the 11 post, but I think he won a big race marooned outside once before…. But this isn’t Del Mar…

Race 6 THE CHAMPION STAKES Calandagan VS Ombudsman !!! They both love Ascot I am betting neither !
I am betting the horse that I have lost more money on this year than any other race horse in Europe or America
6 Constitution River was narrowly beaten on debut then rattled off 5 straight victories! Then the Jinx happened. After winning the Coral Eclipse at Sandown Ryan Moore said “he thought this might be the best horse he has ever ridden”
So Guess what happened next… He loses at York after getting a bit rank early and struggled to find cover early. Then inherited the lead early and was simply flat late. THEN AGAIN at Leopardstown he loses… I do think he moved a bit early that day and just got run down late.
Is he good enough to come off those last two defeats and now take on older horses such as these… We will find out tomorrow
