6-11-20

Belmont

Race 6

1 – Puffery (MTO)

2-23-20

Trip Note:  Had a clear shot throughout while “with the track” and made no impression.  Switch in surfaces makes sense.

Race Note:  Winner came back to win N1X vs open competition.

Bias: Strong outside

2 – Factoring

No applicable note.  Layoff.

3 – Gracetown (MTO)

2-14-20

Trip Note:  Nothing wrong with this start. Broke fine.  Raced in the clear while on outside of stalking trio.  Never looked threatening.  Likely needs lesser.

Race Note:  Field was very compact.  Raced 2 x 3 and only 2.5L covered the entire field into the FT.  Winner snuck up rail in turn and won at 2-5*.

Bias:

4 – Tappanzee

No applicable note.  Layoff.

5 – Cape Cod Diva

2-28-20

Trip Note:  No applicable note b.c was on dirt.

Bias:  Strong inside.

6 – Wings of Fury

2-24-20

Trip Note:  Was a bit fidgety when the gate opened and was off just a hair slower than the rest.  This is combination with her outside draw caused her rider to try and rate.  This was a mistake.  She was keen and resented being held up.  Draw a line through this one.  Expecting her to be permitted to “let roll” early.

Race Note:  N/A

Bias:  N/A

7 – Ok Honey (MTO)

3-14-20

Trip Note:  Was never in a good spot.  Ridden from the outset, this one always fell into a poor in BTW spot.  Had to tap on the breaks midway in the far turn when in a box.  Eased around foes late in the turn while 4-5W and decent stretch run despite never switching leads.  Was BTL* with some hidden trouble.

Race Note:  Winner went wire to wire on slower than normal pace.

Bias:  None.

8 – Merlins Muse

No applicable note. Layoff.

9 – Terpeye

No applicable note.  Has never raced on turf.

10 – Makin’ Out

No applicable note.  Has never raced on turf.

11 – Teletype

No applicable note. Long time since her last turf start.

12 – Carlisle Belle

No applicable note. Long time since her last turf start.

Race 7

1 – Superego

2-14-20

Misc. note: Today will be the first time this one races vs older foes.

Trip Note:  Pace seemed on faster side early with top two four lengths clear of the others.  Won this first battle and PP’s tell the rest.

Race Note:  Place horse tried turf next out and was no good and show finisher has run twice since, one of those being for MDC30 and running poorly while going shorter.

Bias: N/A

2 – Kid d’Oro (previously trained by Jason Servis)

3-6-20

Trip Note:  Had a perfect trip throughout while tracking leader from an outside draw.

Race Note: Pace was slow early and field was compact.  Show finisher is now 0-16 and most of these races were for MDC40.

Bias:  None.

3 – Danny California

5-16-20

Trip Note:  Inside foe pushed this one outward at the start.  Reserved early.  Slightly climbing on the BS but don’t believe it was from throwback – believe it was b.c this one was reserved and trying to run through it.  To the outside on the BS.  4-5+W through the FT.  Very little chance with this trip vs pace and ground loss.  Excused.

Race Note:  Pace was slower than normal and speed/stalkers dominated this race running 1-2-3-4.

Bias:  N/A

4 – Chestertown

Misc. note: Today will be the first time this one races vs older foes.

3-21-20

Trip Note:  Bump early meant nothing. Bravely held his spot early while in some tight in BTW when the first turn arrived.  Saved ground throughout.  Was moving in and some through the lane when rider gave up and then a sudden, terrible lugout right at the finish with no foes around and no reason to do so.  Would tread lightly – this isn’t the kind of lugout I’d ignore.

Race Note:  Pace was on slower side and speed dominated.  Winner was W2W and 1-2-3-4 early finished 1-2-OUT-3.

Bias:  N/A

5 – Our Last Buck

3-15-20

Trip Note:  Perfect trip while spying an eyeball duel from the outside.

Race Note:  Pace was slower than normal and top two finishers both ran well while leaving the pack.

Bias:  None.

6 – Run For Boston

2-29-20

Trip Note:  A dream trip from way back. Saved ground through the turn and a clear shot through the lane when a gap arrived inside the 1/16 pole.  Not for me against similar.

Race Note:  Closers dominated and ran 1-2-3-4.  Pace was hot.

Bias:  N/A

7 – Yankee Division

2-29-20

Trip Note:  Was a pole better than this group.  Ridden for his life from the stalls. Hooked while 6 clear early.  Was tried to be given a breather but late in the turn the pack had caught up and forced to fight for the remainder of the race.  Wow this was a monster effort!

Race Note:  Closers dominated and ran 1-2-3-4.  Pace was hot.

Bias:  N/A

8 – Beg to Differ

3-13-20

Misc. note: Today will be the first time this one races vs older foes.

Trip Note:  Slight bump away from the gate. Looked for open air early and good spot tracking from the outside on what seemed to be a faster than normal pace.  Clear shot while wide throughout while with the track.

Race Note:  1-2-3-4 early finished 2-4-1-3

Bias:  Strong late running and strong outside.
