Trip Note: Jock rode awkwardly the first furlong of the race. Wouldn’t call the break of the horse awkward, but rather that off the jock. He was on his heels and in a low crouch. Both horse and jock got into a rhythm past the ½ mile pole. Raced on his own from the 6-path into the FT. Mild rally passed tired rivals in the lane to finish a clear 3rd.

Trip Note: Always looked like a winner. Received an ideal set up while racing all on his own from 7th. The top 6 were bunched within 3L of each other. Angled out 5W at the TOS. Idled a touch before switching leads at the 16th pole and rolled by late.

Trip Note: Probably one of the funniest replays we’ve seen in a while. Jock clearly thought the race was 4F. Jock was looking behind him while 15L clear and had his mount under wraps in the stretch the first time. Was praising his boy on the “gallop out” despite a mile left to go LOL. Performance is obviously excused.

Trip Note: Pressed the pace into the FT. Both he and the early leader were overtaken by the winner at the TOS. Don’t read too much into the “checked at the 1/8th pole” comment. The winner drifted in as he kicked away from the field. Zipper was already tiring when the jock checked. It really didn’t cost him anything. With that said, the apprentice who is very good with speed types hops aboard for today’s 2nd time blinkers effort. Would expect to see him fly out of the gate today.

Trip Note: Tracked the quick early leader into the FT while a rival was glued to his outside. 2W bid at the TOS. Wore down the early leader, but was fortunate to win the race as the show finisher was putting in a serious rally and tried to split a seam between Coalinga and the early leader. He didn’t make it thru.

Trip Note: He wasn’t bumped at the break. It was a minor brush at best. The trouble line of “steading on the turn” was all caused by him trying to lug out. He was keyed up going into the FT and did not appreciate all the congestion around him. Jock jogged him in from there.

Trip Note: Took a good bump going into the 1st turn as a rival drifted outwards. Moved up early stages of the BS while racing uncovered 4-deep. Followed the move of the winner around the FT while 3W. Got to within a neck of the lead before being outkicked the final 1/8th.
Race Note: Rail at 12 feet. Race was above par for the level. Winner sat the perfect trip in 3rd stalking the dueling leaders while racing on his own. Winner came back to win open N1X company in the race #6 Fly to Mars exits. The show finisher ran a good 2nd against starter allowance company last weekend.

Trip Note: Received no favors on the front end. Used early to clear off and then was jumped by (2) rivals before the ½ mile pole as they turned the race into a sprint. Tired on the FT and jock wrapped up by the ¼ pole to exaggerate the margin of defeat. We can excuse this performance.
Race Note: 3-horse eyeball duel set it up for perfect trip winner (3/2*) favorite who won under wraps. Interestingly enough was not allowed to gallop out though.

Trip Note: Disappointing run as the 4/5 favorite. Broke inwards at the start and brushed with a rival. Inside tracking trip behind the 3-horse stack up front down the BS. Nibbled at past the ½ mile pole and never threatened.
Race Note: 3-horse ¾ stack down the BS. 15/1 upset winner pressed the early leader until the 1/8th pole when he took over.

Trip Note: Big effort at a huge number on this day. Raced in the center of the track in about the 6-path down the BS. Crossed over towards the inside lanes approaching the FT. Challenged the winner past the ¼ pole and they both battled gamely to the wire. The winner was kept to left-handed urging and gradually drifted out Sunny several paths and outbobbed him at the wire. Sunny galloped out well. No shame in this defeat. Moves way up in class today.

Race Note: This was basically a merry-go-round race. Even money favorite Colour Me Happy, went W2W. The winner and runner-up (Shot of a Lifetime) ran in Race 8.
