Gulfstream Park Friday Nov 29th Early Pick 5 by Chris Cupples

Be sure to check the website for John Pinder’s opinion on the late Pick 5….
The early Pick 5 is a better spot than opening day but not seeing a spot that I want to kill just yet…. patience……

Best Bet of Early Sequence Race 4 –   6 Deets

Race 1
A – 5 Cosmo Prime is the logical favorite here and is likely to be even money after already winning a MSW on Oct 11th but getting DQ when he drifted out suddenly before the wire.   Then set a very quick pace on Nov 8th before tiring late.    The only hesitation is with the meet just starting there are a few in here that are trying something new and/or have no workouts available to watch, but I will roll with the favorite here.

Race 2 is likely the make a break race of the early sequence and if you have a strong opinion here would be an advantage.   I unfortunately do not…  I may single my top pick or hit the ALL…
A – 1 Super Lucky Lady I will use simply with no standouts in this spot, but she has not done anything to impress.
A – 2 Miss Taptress was much best last time breaking her maiden doing things easily but widening in stretch and geared down…  but I do not think she beat much that day
A – 6 Sassy Allie stretches it out for the first time and has worked very well since arriving to S. FL.    Unless Rajiv wins on Thanksgiving maybe Allie gets Rajiv back in the winners circle.
A – 7 Minari has been solid versus Maiden Claimers.  Breaking her maiden she waited on traffic then closed into a slow pace to get the win and the Sept. 13th race she did not a lane to run in till very late when the race was already over.

B’s Everyone else …..

Race 3
A – 1 Abuelo is the logical horse.  Saffie 1st time starter for a tag/dirt/sprinting, Saffie is 20% but I would be cautious in this spot.   Abuelo has a very long consistent work pattern which is a positive but there is nothing flashy about this colt he works average and no Zayas.    Should win but would not want to invest a ton…..
A – 2 Aero Star broke sharp on debut then quickly packed it in.   Drops out of MSW company should improve for a barn is 14% in this spot and 28% in the money…..

B – 3 Ruiz Junior maybe grinds out a win here being the best of the rest…. But I have to think one of two runners above is better.

Race 4
is a short field and something I am working on personally is trusting my figures….
A – 6 Deets last race by my figs lays over this short field.  She has a bit more speed than it shows on the paper form and had some trouble last time when breaking her maiden so could have ran a bit faster.

Race 5
– MSW going 5 furlongs on the turf, I am taking a spread approach in this spot.

A – 3 Carnane will try sprinting for the first time for his new barn who added blinkers.   All 4 starts going long were respectable efforts and has always been a nice workhorse.  Nov 22nd worked well with Vive Veuve although a bit 2nd best held her own.
A – 5 Bal De Mar has showed lots of talent this year primarily working on the tapeta, enough connections shipped to Del Mar for her debut.   Although she disappointed last time I cannot dismiss her today adding blinkers and 1st time Lasix.  I will make my top selection but not a confident selection by no means.
A – 9 Tiz Ready is a must use but another I cannot lean on.   Showed good speed on debut but was on a loose rein and when asked to run was a bit green then followed that up with a bad effort on the tapeta.

Others
I like will also use the 2 Bellofthebluegrass for obvious reasons and the 4 Flashy Motor (NOTE when this one gets to the tapeta GO TIME!)
