Late Pick 5 Sequence
Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion. To be more judicious with our bankroll in 2026, I will be taking a more targeted approach in Pick 5 selections and include some win bets and doubles when the opportunities arise.
Race 6 SELECTIONS: 4
#4 Smart Jenny is the one mare in the race that has the ability to come from off the pace, which will be key in my pre-race assessment; hence we will use her as a single to start the sequence.
Race 7 SELECTIONS: 8 – 10 – 1
#8 Lion Lake will be running second off the layoff for trainer Brendan Walsh; she is a well-bred Ireland filly making her third career start. #10 Mia Familia ran well on debut but didn’t have any pace to run into; this daughter of Nyquist gets Lasix for the first time. #1 Rules and Regs is a first-time starter, sired by Tiz the Law trained by Ian Wilkes.
Race 8 SELECTIONS: 4 – 2 – 8
#4 Blast Radius is a logical contender in this spot as he is two for three at the distance and gets the services of jockey Irad Ortiz. #2 Accelerate Me is a hard-trying gelding who will be looking to make it three wins in a row; jockey Luis Saez picks up the riding assignment. #8 Dune Road is not without a chance due to his late closing kick.
Race 9 SELECTIONS: 4 – 5 – 2
#4 Muffin Music has been away from the races for 3 months, and has been training well for trainer Wesley Ward. #5 Chucky’s Ride will be running second off a long layoff for trainer Mark Casse; if she can return to form she will be dangerous in this race. #2 Drama has great early speed and should be fresh off the 2-month layoff.
Race 10 SELECTIONS: 2 -9
#2 Horsing Around had a “not so good” trip on debut last time out. She was steadied multiple times before coming with a rally. Makes her second career start and first for new trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. # 9 Emblaze is a first-time starter for trainer Migel Clement. She is well bred and will get the services of jockey Tyler Gaffalione.
