Gulfstream Park – Late Pick 5 – Sunday (December 28, 2025) – John Pinder

Late Pick 5

Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion.

Race 6  SELECTIONS:   1 – 2 – 9

#1 Fully Entitled is returning from a sprint race and should be fit and ready for the route distance today.  #2 Diamonds N Thrills is a hard trying 3-year-old filly of Spun to Run that doesn’t do her best running until late but rarely misses hitting the board.  #9 Golden Valley will be making her second start off the claim for trainer Angel Rodriguez, jockey Junior Alvarado picks up the mount.

Race 7 SELECTIONS:   7 – 3 – 5

#7 Waymark is a well-bred first-time starter for trainer Brad Cox, jockey Tyler Gaffalione gets the riding assignment.  #3 Lost Money is a son of Street Sense who will be switching over to the dirt, his recent workout times are impressive.  #5 Kingswearcrowns is a progeny of the sire Munnings who will be making his racing debut in today’s 7th race, his dam has produced 2 winners from 6 starters.

Race 8 SELECTIONS:   5 – 2 – 3

#5 Murabeh drops in class for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. after narrowly missing last time out; that effort was the first after a long layoff.  #2 Oasis Prince is a gelded son of Constitution with a pressing running style with a good late turn afoot to match. He has done well in and around this level since moving to the barn of Collin Maragh; jockey Rajiv Maragh maintains the mount.  #3 Drink N Wink fits at this level and will be making his first start for new trainer Jorge Delgado.

Race 9 SELECTIONS:  4

#4 Velvet Vortex has been away from the races for six months and makes her return today for trainer Brad Cox.  A review of her previous three races reveals substantial speed, and if she is ready to go she should be hard to beat.

Race 10 SELECTIONS:    2 – 1 – 3

#2 Lomax will be making his second start off the layoff for trainer Todd Pletcher.  Today he drops in class and returns to a route distance after sprinting last time out.  #1 Seawise is a hard trying three-year-old son of English Channel; his three attempts on the turf he has narrowly missed winning, finishing second in each.  #3 Conn Smythe has good turf breeding and ships in from Woodbine for trainer William Tharrenos; jockey Tyler Gafflione will be in the irons.

Today’s ticket .50 base (post scratches) : 1,2,9 / 3,5,7 / 2,3,5 / 4 / 1,2,3 cost: $40.50
