I will be covering the Early Pick 5 in detail, and quick thoughts on rest of card.
You can find John Pinder’s work on the late Pick 5 under the Gulfstream Park menu as well here at Inthemoneypodcast.com
Unfortunately same as yesterday. This is up to let you know it is coming, will have up by 10 AM CST Sunday
As expected ALL RACES ARE OFF THE TURF – SO any races with Surface change will not be posted until after scratches.
Early Pick 5 – I am narrow in low level claimers which has not gone well for me recently but I am a slow learner….
The scratch in the 3rd leaves me not using any B’s.
R1 – 3 4 5 8 10
R2 – 7
R3 – ALL The scratch of my Lone A shifts to buying this one.
R4 – 8
R5 – 1 8 9 10 12
Tapeta Pick 3
R1 – 3 4 5 8 10
R5 – 1 8 9 10 12 (Budget option 1 8 )
R10 – 4 5
Race 1 the surface change leaves me without a strong opinion here so will be spreading.

3 French Mistress – Got nothing No work info for a big barn.
4 Long Wave was going to be my top selection on the grass, going to pivot to another now but is a toss up.
5 Hereforagoodtime does have a couple nice turf works I watched BUT!! this is not on the grass. Workmate Emitaan runs in Race 10 both had no negatives when watching works.
8 Smudge had a solid debut over the tapeta so will get the top choice tag. Ran well last time on the grass finishing well.
10 Brisa Veloz faded quickly on debut but the Jan 12th tapeta work was nice and you get Saffie w Edgar
B LINE – EVERYONE ELSE… Nothing Clever here.
Race 2 Is a spot I feel as I am trying to get to picky separating runners by the narrowest of margins but will not be the first time I have gotten beat doing this…
Small Double – R2 – 7 into the R3 – 1 pending probable payouts
LONE A – 7 Neshume I thought took a slight step forward last time when running what look to be a winning race until Mr. Tyson was asked at the 8th pole, but this one did dig in trying to the wire. The extra half furlong is my only concern.
B LINE
1 Iron Hand gets on the tapeta for the first time and has a flashy sub 47 tapeta work on the page that the clocker report apparently did not see and there are not videos off so not sure if was achieved easily or quarter horsed the entire way? If I used a 2nd A this would be the one.
5 Sneaky Sneaky had a perf trip last time while being no match for Neshume but was finding his best late so maybe the extra half furlong puts him closer.
Note for Later – 6 Valiant Winter has some impressive tapeta works but barn is only 1 for 29 first timers sprinting turf/tapeta combined.
Race 3 – Lack of Pace ? The Scratch of Freakazoid muddies the waters for me. So buying the race…
LONE A – 1 Freakazoid will not get the pace to run into as he did last time but there fore will not be as far back. This colt was working with nice horses for Sisterson this time last year before something obviously went wrong and he was put on the back burner not returning until this past Oct in the claiming ranks.
LONE B – 7 Carentan makes his second start off the bench for a patient trainer. Ran a decent turf race last time and does have decent synthetic sprint at Presque Isle.
Others that have reasons …
3 Bean Machine is routing on the tapeta for the first time.
4 Racket looks to be completely loose on the lead, but he has been in that position many times before.
Race 4 is a stellar group of $12,500 maidens going a mile on the dirt or at least they are going to try to go a mile….. I have plenty of notes on these runners from the past but not much reason to share any of them. To me its pick one or use them ALL!
Here is my 1! – 8 Passionate Cry gets an outside post while racing on the dirt for the first time. Maybe he can out grind the 6 Praiseworthy but neither are gonna cut the clock off quickly.
B LINE
1 Blazing Tyrek has kept good company in the mornings dating back to this time last year but is simply bad….
6 Praiseworthy is the best dirt route of the group but calling that race slow is an understatement.
C LINE _ EVERYONE ELSE!
Race 5
A LINE
1 Steelers Mischief should go off favored after scratches and I do have this one on top based on his last effort although not 100% confident in my figure for that race.
8 Four Top will face winners for the first time after breaking his maiden last time under a hand drive. Could go off co-favored for a barn that is ice cold.
9 Magic Slip dropped to this level last time at Woodbine sprinting and will go a route of ground for the first time.
10 Kosher Capone will route over the tapeta for the first time and did go a mile a Churchhill that was a respectable effort.
12 Never Say Never will need to improve off the claim and I would expect this one to be sent from the outside post.
B LINE
2 Reggae Man changes barns and now faces winners for the first time which is a tough task. My figures for this one going a route of ground are not too far off.
11 Noble Tiger I have similar to Reggae Man
