I will be covering the Early Pick 5 in detail, and quick thoughts on rest of card.
You can find John Pinder’s work on the late Pick 5 under the Gulfstream Park menu as well here at Inthemoneypodcast.com

The NEXT TWO WEEKS……   The NHC see is fast approaching and with more tracks drawing cards early I think it changes the game a bit.   March 7th, 8th , 9th…  I am 50/50 if I will be writing up Gulfstream as instead I will be digging into cards for NHC Weekend.   I will definitely try.
March 14th 15th 16th is the NHC so I will not have anytime to get anything out.

Did not make my 10 AM CST as expected as it is a very difficult card and scratches did not hit till 10 CST.

Overall – I will be very conservative today as this card is just not my cup of tea.

Race 1 I am on the obvious with a couple in that may take money who are simply prepping for their next start that will be on turf.
A LINE
2 Champagne Brunch has experience.  Its Saffie / Irad Combo is clicking at 35% the last 2 months.    Gets back to the dirt but with lasix today.
5 Raghba a decent debut for Pletcher who does not start many out routing.   30% the last 5 years for Pletcher in second start/ Dirt/Route/MSW.

Others – 3 and 4 have a look but I will stick with the percentages… .

Race 2 – Waiting on scratches this morning put me in a time crunch so not many comments.
A LINE
2 Bentee – Nothing on Clocker Report – No work videos –  Last 5 years Clement is 4 for 34 when debuting for a tag in turf routes.
3 Le Touche
4 Drink Deeply – First turf while benefiting from lasix.
5 We Sea You will be a short price and can win but there is not much separating her from the rest.
7 Dorotea Dream ran well last time and will be a great price in here.
9 Giddy Up Baby is the horse to beat but this is not an overwhelming opinion.
10 Carolina D’ Oro – first for Saffie with Edgar

Race 3
A LINE – If I play an early Pick 5 ticket I might single my top pick here.
4 Gayles Evening makes the A Line because of the claim as her wins have came while on the lead with moderate paces.
5 American Course has faced tougher company and is fast enough to be on the lead of just sit off the 4.

Race 4
A LINE
1 Forty N Five tries the dirt for the first time coming out of big time works.    I don’t know about this Uncle MO sire but heard he has had a few dirt runners.
2 Uncaged may run off the screen but will go off favored.
4 Rolando was entered in the Mucho Macho Stakes in Jan when was a trainer scratch.   Cuts back to 3/4’s today with Lasix.
5 CK Wonder had some steam prior and after debut this past summer and is another cutting back with the addition of lasix.

Race 5 I have nothing clever in here as it is a 6250 claimer that is wide open!
A LINE – 1 3 4 5 6 7

Start of the Mandatory Payout Pick 6 – Appears this card was put together specifically for the mandatory payout day and difficult is an understatement, it had me contemplating pouring Bourbon at 0800 AM.  GOODLUCK

Race 6 – The lone positive I have for the opening leg is there are only 8 horses ( AFTER SCRATCHS field of 5)….  Class droppers, 1st Lasix, 1st Turf, 1st for their new trainer, etc.   If we only had a couple adding blinkers…..
A LINE
2 Creeds Gold – Nothing negative here
4 Etrurian is a touch faster early but it’s not by much.
7 Glitter Up is interesting at a price.  If you just look at her turf sprints she is the class of the field and I do not think getting 15-1 but the money at Gulfstream has been wildly unpredictable.
8 Simply Stated – First time turf with Irad and an outside draw.   Best agent in the biz in my opinion and Irad is here for a reason.   12-1 is not happening.

B LINE –  1 6

Race 7 – Open 6250 claimer.  Like every race in this difficult sequence you want as many as possible.
A LINE
5 Trappezoid caught a sloppy race track last time and ran a fast race at Tampa two back.   He is inconsistent which is why he is a 6250 claimer but is capable of running a winning race versus this group.
8 Lookin At Roses last is better than it looks on paper.  Has races way back in 2023 that bury this group but lots of poor performances since then.
10 Grand Tower will try the dirt for the first time and take a huge step up in class as he just cleared his non winners of three condition.   Typically not a horse I would be looking at but has decent speed and drawn outside.

B – 3 4 6 9

Race 8 – The first of two 9 furlong turf races for 3 year old maidens.       Myself and Mikee P covered this race on the Coast 2 Coast pod so no need to type out details.   The Coast to Coast forces you to narrow which is what I love about the wager but here with the low increment I would be using more if possible.
A LINE – 2 4
B LINE – 1 5 10
C LINE – Honestly nearly everyone else –  6 8 9 11 12 13    That only excludes a couple.

Race 9 is a short field full of speed potentially could melt down.   Dilger will now be the shortest price of the sequence.
A LINE
1 Dilger ran well last time while saving every step of ground and having nothing for Into Pleasure at the 8th pole.   This colt has a nice cruising speed but has not found the winners circle since breaking the maiden.
3 Uncaptured Warrior faced a tough group on the tapeta last time and now will make his second start for Saffie.    The Dec 14th race at Tampa 1.08.88 is lightning quick.

There are a couple wild cards in here.
4 Have a Souper Day is 7 for 44 lifetime and in the money 50% of the time but has never raced over the dirt.    Plenty of options on the tapeta but Drexler put him here…..
6 Con Compania has lots of positive comments on the clocker report but I was unable to watch any for myself.

Race 10 – Myself and Mikee P covered this race on the Coast 2 Coast pod so no need to type out details.
A LINE – 5 11 13
B LINE – 4 6 7 8

Race 11 – 3 Year old Maidens in March going 9 furlongs on the grass….  Does not get much tougher than this.   If you are not a replay person then you saved a lot of time here as the ones with experience all lack early pace, have had clean trips and average gallops out.   You want as many as you can get on a ticket then when you have all the bases covered you can watch Irad win at 2-1 lol
A LINE
1 Murabeh flashed some speed on debut and was trying in the stretch but was outrun when the running started.  Then tried the dirt now back to the grass with lasix.
5 Cash the Money has an experience edge and some speed.  Does not appear to have missed any time since the debut and the Tampa effort last time was decent.
7 Bite and Strike did not show anything in his last to make anyone say this is the one.   Mott is only 9% the last 5 years with 3rd time starters / long / grass / MSW..    2 for 17 when 9 Furlongs or more
9 Bulldoze is likely the post time favorite and I can’t knock this one.    Pletcher is 13% in this spot and 3 for 18 when going 9 furlongs or more.    He could have ran a bit better on debut Irad never asked for his best in the stretch as he was too far back and could see the winner was long gone.
12 Buzz Rocket has experience and is an interesting claim for D’Angelo.  A half to California Chrome who sold for nearly a half a million good story if nothing else.    The lone turf race two back I thought he was finishing well enough to entertain the idea of more ground.

B – 2 3 10 11    The 4 first timers make the B Line – If was to move only one of these to my A Line it would be the 3 Tiz Fervor.
