All my work is done with no morning line’s then when the lines come out sometimes UGH…
Looks to be a chalky day, I will be focusing on skinny multi’s , Doubles and found 1 Tri spot I will play a bit.
Hopefully the weekend brings some more value, but can only play the cards we are dealt.
Race 1
A – 5 Mystic Sunrise is the obvious horse in here and appears she has finally found the right group. She has ran consistently versus slightly tougher. The ones in here trying something new are in very cold barns so unless someone catches my attention on the clocker report or by taking money the favorite will do.
Race 2 once again I am looking at the obvious horses, nothing clever to be found. A toss up between the two Pletcher’s.
A – 1 War Officer add blinkers and keeps Jose in the irons, besides the debut that was run on dirt this colt has done nothing wrong.
A – 6 Sgt. Pepper has not quite lived up to expectations, kept good work company as a 3 year old being Tapit Trice’s work mate during the prep season. Nice race last time on tapeta nearly getting up to Tiz Eternal who set a track record that day. Now goes out 2nd off the bench and 2nd time gelding.
B – 4 Bee Well I will have on at least one ticket somewhere but I have seen him over, over and over run the same races with no excuse.
Race 3
A – 1 Macassa stretch out to a route for the first time on Jan. 11th running better than appears on paper. Was under a hold until off the turn tried to tip out bumped 3 Its a Birdie who is in here as well repeatedly before getting any room but was still in tight to wire. Thought she ran extremely well here never being in a position to change leads and give her best.
A – 7 A Ring Thing comes out of the same race as Macassa, raced on the lead and I thought was going to fold up off the turn, but dug in turning the pressure away being caught for 2nd late.
B – 6 Mystic Dreams is the only other I would consider putting on a ticket simply being 1st time on the tapeta and gets Paco up.
Fades
2 Andie One is the morning line favorite and I will take my chances against. The common race on Jan 11th saved ground and finished well to get 2nd, she did not have a perfect trip that day but close to it. If she runs here it will be her 3rd start in 30 days.
Race 4
A – 2 My Royal Vow is the new face recently changing to Fawkes barn, 2nd off the bench and tries tapeta route for the first time.
A – 4 What’s Good I slightly prefer over the 1 Pep Rally, had 3-4 wide trip last time just missed Pep Rally late. Now 2nd time out off a lengthy break.
B – 1 Pep Rally really had no excuse last out, sit right off the pace staying on in the stretch being no match for the ones who finished in front of her. Paco knew she was no match so did not over ride that last 16th still holding off What’s Good at wire. She has no reason to move forward off that effort which inclines me to try to fade this one for some value, but I am admittedly splitting hairs.
If you chose to spread in here there is the 3 and 7 getting on tapeta for the first time, but I need a reason to include other than just chance.
Race 5 The scratch of the Chad runner likely makes Stat to short to play
A – 1 Stat will be top selection here after running a huge race Dec 2nd setting very fast fractions then dug in to wire just could not get back by a tough foe. The only reservation I have is the time between races and was entered on Pegasus day in the 5th and Saffie elected to scratch.
B – 7 Ramsey Solution has not ran since Sept of 2022 comes back here for Saffie as an 8 year old with 13 starts , 6 wins and 3 2nds. Have to respect the record and the barn is dangerous with these types.
Possible Exacta 1 over 7
1

Race 6
A – 5 Joe Di Baggio I was on last out but did not expect him to run as well as he did. I know he had a near perfect trip but took over at ease drew off , then galloped out huge. He did not run like a 6250 claimer. I am not a bounce guy, but If I was I suppose this would be a scenario for it.
B – 1 Kingpin is the 1 of my two B’s here I prefer. Most of his career has been spent on the turf, but horse ran 2 solid dirt races to begin his career and looks to get over it training just fine.
B – 3 Toscanito 1st off claim from Breen to Vandenburg who plays the claiming game well, but barn has been cold. If you don’t have faith in Joe then look to Irad?
Race 7 I will split hairs here being a race on at least 1 tickets I would like to have the dreaded ALL Button. I found no hidden trips here, no excuses. I see not a lot of reason for explanation as I have nothing clever here at all.
A – 2 ,5, 6
B – 1 , 7
C – the other two
Race 8 I hate to be chalk in full field like this but the favorite was just too good.
A – 6 Pretty Liam‘s debut was not intended for the tapeta, but this filly sure did look like she was made for it. I cannot recall a tapeta debut this impressive to be honest. That being said been some highly regarded Pletcher horses disappoint lately.
B – 3 Iced Coffee went 56.57 gate to wire on debut, hard to believe a debut like this filly had she would not be favored next time out. She did nothing wrong went fast and finished well.
C – 1 ,2 , 10, 11 ,
Race 9 closes out the day with a very competitive short field. If you wanted to try to catch some prices could be a option in the race as well, very capable runners.
A – 5 Tatanka will look to be on the lead again after holding off Alley Opp Johnny and returning foe Space Launch last time. Turf course has been carrying speed very well although rain that came last week could change that.
A – 7 Sonic Speed can run with Tatanka but he may have a tough task out finishing him late, but he ran well winning last time vs starter company , and that race 2 back was a hell of a race. The beyer number there will help this one’s price.
B – 4 Space Launch maybe Irad can elevate this one to get the job done, if you want to back this one you will be required to pay the Irad tax.
C – 1 Cadet Corps has flashed talent off and on in 24 starts winning 9 times, but when facing horses with any class to them he always seem to fall short.
C – 2 Eyes On Target I have always thought was a nice horse and now seems no one wants to keep him in their barn. Assuming there is a big hole somewhere but he is capable of winning here but will need bring his best.

Thanks. I hit the early pic-5 on a 4.00 ticket
Nice Job Early Pick 5 I nailed it , late pick 5 Not so much lol
