Gulfstream’s Summer Sweep Pick 5 – Monday (July 20, 2026) – John Pinder

Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion.

Gulfstream Park Race 6 – SELECTIONS:   2 – 1

#2 Paris Surprise will make his first start for new trainer Victor Barboza Jr. and gets some class relief.  #1 Ironsides is returning from a two month freshening after a spring campaign where he was unlucky in a few races and had no pace in the others.

Parx Race 7 – SELECTIONS:   7 – 4

#7 Play the Gray has delt with a case of second-itous in his last three starts and we are betting on the slight distance change to 6.5 Furlong is just what the doctor ordered.  #4 Stinger Bee is very fast away from the gate, always placing himself in contention; jockey Francisco Martinez stays aboard for a seventh consecutive time.

Parx Race 8- SELECTIONS:   9 – 8

#9 Ximena put it all together last time out when she broke her maiden with apprentice jockey Bryan Torres, they reunite again today looking to make it two in a row.  #8 Crimson Red is dropping in class and gets the meets leading rider Paco Lopez in the irons.

Gulfstream Park Race 8 – SELECTIONS:   7 – 6

#7 Brother Brad has been very popular at the claiming box recently and for good reason; he is 3 for 4 at this level this year.    #6 Antillean was competitive last time out at 7 Furlongs and today drops in class and he returns to the 8 Furlong distance for new trainer Fernando De La Cruz.

Gulfstream Park Race 9 – SELECTIONS:   7 – 8

#1 Jayhawk looks like the one to beat as he goes for his fourth consecutive victory BUT – we are not going to include him, as his use will be prominent in most tickets.  #7 Battle of Dover has the talent to win and should be looking at a good pace scenario.  #8 Quizler is a logical include as we look to embrace the probability of those overlooked runners that can make our payouts really jump.

Today’s ticket $1 base (pre scratches) : 1,2 / 4,7 / 8,9 / 6,7 / 7,8    cost: $32
