Horseshoe Indy 4/23 Spot Plays

HORSESHOE INDIANAPOLIS SPOT PLAYS
April 23, 2025
By Nick Tammaro @NTamm1215

We’re back for another 9 race card Wednesday at Horseshoe Indy with 8 TB events and a QH nightcap!  Here are some spot plays…

RACE 2 – #5 BIG WALT

The pace edge in this race clearly belongs to this son of Tapiture.  He hasn’t been out since February when he had a failed attempt on the Tapeta at Turfway and is now in the care of trainer Tim Eggleston.  He wired a field of MSW runners here in the Hoosier State last year, earning a 75 Beyer en route to a comfortable win.  This is a spot where he can get command early and will likely be the second choice.

RACE 5 – #6 COMPUTADORA

One of my favorite angles is betting dirt horses whose form has been darkened by synthetic races. That’s the case with this daughter of Cloud Computing, who showed real ability on dirt last year, including a couple of in the money finishes at Belterra Park against MSW runners.  The fields she faced those days compare favorably to the rock bottom maiden claimers she meets today.  The race she ran last out was just fine from a practical standpoint, as she moved aggressively while wide.

RACE 7 – #9 STUDIO HALL

The morning lines in this race look a little off, so I’m not sure about the 12-1 on this charge, but I know she’s a bet at that price.  OXO Equine has branched out in terms of trainers and have this home bred by Instilled Regard now with Will Walden.  That should lead to improvement from her, as he does excellent work with new arrivals to her stable.  She showed ability in a powerful debut win at 3/5 and is sure to be well backed again getting Lasix off the bench.

Good luck and stop back by tomorrow as racing continues at Horseshoe Indy!
