Horseshoe Indy 5/20 Pick 5

HORSESHOE INDIANAPOLIS PICK 5 – 5/20/25
By Nick Tammaro | @NTamm1215

RACE 4:

The Pick 5 begins with a carryover in an Indy bred MSW race where #3 READY TO SEIZE will be an enormous favorite.  He enters off a series of sprint races and hails from a barn that sports a solid record with horses stretching out in distance.  That move will help him get to a forward position in the opening stages and his speed figures tower over those of his rivals. If beaten, it will almost certainly be by #6 KEG, who was a good third two back before faltering last time out.

As: 3,6
Bs: 5

RACE 5:

This is another two horse race, with only one alternative as a third option.  The favorite, #2 GONNAGETCHAGETCHA will be formidable given her recent efforts since coming back as a 3YO.  She has speed and inside draw and needn’t be much to get control of this race early.  The clearest alternative is #6 JAVADIFAR, who debuted against the favorite and made a strong late bid after a slow break from the gate.  She would be a top pick in this spot given the barn’s strong record with 2nd timers (small sample) and the late energy shown on debut.

Bs: 1,3,7

RACE 6:

How much can you possibly trust #7 HADLEY’S MAX in here?  A late running sprinter who has had success going long, he has been at his best around one turn and now steps up in class.  It’s unclear how much tougher an Indy-bred N1X is than an open 5k beaten claimer, and this gelding has performed well enough of late.  The obligation you have as a Pick 5 bettor is to create value and I’ll try to do it here with #5 FACE THE FUTURE.  He is the main speed on paper, has a top jockey and landed in a race run at a frenetic early clip last time out.  If able to get to the front, he just may forget to quit.

As: 1,3,4,5
Bs: 8

RACE 7:

Shouldn’t #10 FAR AND FEW wire this field?  She was last seen on dirt winning a N2L at Belterra last year and earned a speed figure in doing so that would make her tough to handle today.  The winning rider from that day is back aboard and she should have no issue making the early lead.  The balance of the field is inept.

As: 10

RACE 8:

#11 REIMAGINE is supposed to win this race.  She stays at the 32k level after starting here two weeks ago and checking in second.  There’s no other dirt form in here whatsoever and she has enough speed to be within range from the outset.  If she simply runs her last, she’ll be very tough to beat.

As: 11
Bs: 4,7

Good luck and we’ll see you back Tuesday on this 4-day racing week!
