AQUEDUCT – 10/28/22
RACE 1: 5-6-3-8
#5 GOING IN STYLE improved at second asking to finish third in a restricted MSW event. With another move forward he should be very tough to handle as the likely favorite. Trainer Jose Camejo has made a splash around these parts with a consistent strike rate, and this son of Mastery should be the controlling speed.
RACE 2: 1-6-4-3
The pace should work in the favor of #1 WILL E SUTTON, who is quick enough to get early command. There is hardly a great deal of early foot in this field and this son of Curlin is working his way back into form since being claimed for 14k. The price should be fair as well given how competitive this field is on paper.
RACE 3: 5-2-3
#5 TIZZY IN THE SKY is the one to catch in this compact field and exits a maiden win that was much faster than any of her rivals’ recent performances. She should control this race pace-wise and is in light with the bug boy astride. If she does get the lead, she’ll likely prove very tough to catch.
RACE 4: 1-2-7-3
#1 ANGEL PALM is better than her rivals in this field and is a likely winner. She was 2nd as the favorite last time out down at Remington and should be in a similar stalking spot this afternoon. If jockey Manny Franco gets the opportunity to put her on the lead, she can be very dangerous from there.
RACE 5: 10-9-4-2
The pace completely collapsed late in the opener on September 5 and #10 THREE GIRLS had done the heavy lifting setting that pace. She has come back to train forwardly for Jeremiah Englehart and should be a major player from the opening bell today. This barn has a solid strike rate with 2nd timers in MSW events, so improvement is expcted.
RACE 6: 4-5-7-2
#4 GAGLIANO is hardly the most trustworthy runner in this field, but she will come with a late run in a race that lacks a standout. The pace will need to materialize to help her chances, and winning has never been easy for her. There are, however, few tolerable alternatives to this late running daughter of Palace Malice.

RACE 7: 3-7-1-5
#3 LUCKY PERIDOT is shortening up in distance after facing much tougher last time out at the Spa. She was ineffective after a slow break from the gate and wound up chasing along the inside much of the way. That was not the place to be on that September 1 card and she can improve here on the drop, with the weight break, and rating on the outside.
RACE 8: 1-6-2-5
Given the strength of the debut effort of #1 TAX IMPLICATIONS, it stands to reason that she’ll be a heavy favorite here. The inside draw is just fine, and she showed enough tactical speed to stay within range early in here. There’s room to move forward for her today for a barn that hits at a 28% clip with 2nd time starters in MSW races going long on turf.
RACE 9: 4-9-7-10
#4 RUTHERFORD is coming out of a live MSW race in which he debuted here at Aqueduct. Trainer Christophe Clement is 33% with 2nd time starting turfers in MSW heats ($3.31 ROI) and this colt should improve with experience. He came out of his debut to train forwardly and his debut was promising.
